Yeah, I am NOT looking forward to seeing the reaction on BSN if Cullen is revealed to be bisexual in DA: I. The "playersexual haters" will lose their minds.
Those are two different things, though.

I'm pretty sure syllogi was referring to Anders being a brooding terrorist, though I could be wrong.

Very much so.
When Maria suggested that all the companions in DA ][ were bi-sexual (long time ago), I personally said I would have preferred that to them being player-sexual.
Makes sense. The majority of this forum discusses narrative more than the other game elements. That is not me being condescending.
Could be for two reasons: though fans seem quite clear, sometimes, on what they don't like about their 3D animated avatars (bad hands, bad hats, bad walks) most are not familiar with the ins and outs of 3D design and animation (especially in games) to give tips on how to do it better. ![]()
Narrative is the main element of games that almost anybody can discuss. BTW, this is why many games don't have game forums (other than maybe for technical support), because there often is little for players or fans to discuss.
Personally speaking, this game would interest me little, and I wouldn't be here, if there wasn't a narrative - maybe, really, several parallel narratives (if we include the romances and side quests) - to discuss. Although you will note dialogue and romance are not the only things I have opinions on, I also personally think there are better ways to implement combat, or alternatives to combat, as well.
I think it's good that we can talk about the quality of the writing of this game. It's something I enjoy discussing. I notice a lot of people even appear to enjoy the imaginary lore they've written for this imaginary world. I guess ... it's all good. I certainly prefer this kind of game to the kind of game where there is no writing, per se, to discuss, because the game doesn't really have a writing team (even if, as, say, a shooter, it does more or less follow a "storyline".)
I think they should have set straight characters and set gay players, regardless of the play through. I think it's dumb how in Dragon Age 2 and the first one how the characters sexuality would change depending on what gender the character was, especially when they're the exact same character. I thought Mass Effect did way better in that regard.

Sounds pretty fun to me.

This is not fair! Get angry so that we can have an angry argument and stop being so polite!!!!
Yeah but I understand where you are coming from. It should be mentioned that I have been on many forums where gameplay is the main topic of discussion. I would even argue that on these forums narrative is secondary. I would just say it is a different game sub culture and interests to what they look for in a game.

I thought you said you'd never return. How well's that working out for you m80?
Haha CrustyBot makes an appearance!

Cullen is not as popular as people think outside of the internet fandom. I doubt a lot people would care. Many people in Cullen thread wouldn't mind. Making Cullen bisexual would only upset people looking for reasons to be upset.

I recall stumbling upon that on Plaintiff's profile and being surprised. I thought Crusty was serious--interesting to see he wasn't.
As an aside, how in the world do you quote more than one person here?
Sounds pretty fun to me.
Cullen being bisexual does sound pretty gay.
Um playersexual and bisexual are not the samething daveliam.

Are you kidding? My girls and guys in the Cullen thread would eat that **** up if he was bi. Think of the fan art and the fanfic. Oh man. Best day ever.
Those are two different things, though.
Agreed, but most people on here don't seem to know the difference since many of them are calling Anders "playersexual" and not bisexual.

Yeah, I was spoiled about his role in the DA2 endgame before the game came out, and was pretty shocked and saddened, as a fan of Awakening!Anders. Now I try to maintain a zen-like calm when it comes to past characters coming back, especially when it comes to romance status speculation.
I do think Cullen would be interesting as a bisexual companion, however, simply because he's not a promiscuous rogue. But of course, that could change by DA:I too.

I don't mind, Cullen is a white dude, his sword shouldn't be that big.

Thanks. But where is the confirm button? I only had the two things on the bottom right side--reply to one post, and cancel. Should there be a third?

Well you kids have fun. I don't think the Cullen thread will ever forgive me for bringing him up, so I've done enough damage here. Night!
This is not fair! Get angry so that we can have an angry argument and stop being so polite!!!!
Nah, I'm never rude to people who are not rude to me.
Certain topics will make me snark and maybe out of frustration just start throwing up GIFs (more often than not it's because I think the OP or other posters in the thread are being ridiculous or trolling), and I admit that I may, like many other people here, not always regard certain topics as serious, so I mostly respond to them with whimsy.
When I'm interested in being serious on what I think is a serious topic - and I do think this is one - well, yeah, then I'll do it.

Don't worry dear. We shall have a chat with you in the morning about your transgressions here.

As you continue to click on multi-quote, the number rises. When you have all the quotes ready to go, click reply to X posts(however many it is) in the thread you want to post them in.

Yeah, I should have been clearer with my post. I meant that people are insinuating that Anders is playersexual because he doesn't mention Karl to female Hawke, regardless of the fact that he's been confirmed as bisexual.
Since Cullen is also a scruffy blonde guy who showed interest in females in a previous game, I expect that if he is revealed to be bisexual, people will make the comparison between the two and call him playersexual as well.
The only characters who could be argued as playersexual are Fenris and Merrill and I'm not convinced that they are either since they don't explicitly stated their orientation either way.
