Well if they're gonna stop people from hitting on the PC first I'd like it if it flew for both genders. Thus no more stupid grin on Hawke/Shepard's face as the sassy female/asari propositions them would be fantastic.

What does this even mean?

Especially if you're roleplaying your character as a specific sexuality and the auto-flirting or only non-aggressive responses go against that sexuality.

What exactly is the problem with that, though? I've heard this come up before. Still don't get why it bothers some people.
Is it because Anders isn't a busty lady?
Such a scenario does not appear plausible.
Isabela is, by far, the more active and liberal of the two, and both are ultimately available; why would the stranded pirate shy away while the tormented mage pursue intimacy of his own accord?
Additionally, Anders once commented that justice prevents him from getting drunk. As the same spirit found Oghren's prying on biological functions intolerable, he would also likely take great offense to Anders' advances as well, if not forbidding the act outright.

How would clarifying Varric's sexuality ruin his character?

Oh my gosh this so much. I was playing a gay dudeHawke on my most recent playthrough, and the stupid grins and whatnot he kept pulling when Isabela was flirting was so freakin' annoying. I do not want the game assuming my male character is straight or bisexual.
Not to mention that one of the 'sarcastic' dialogue options was just a flirt in disguise. ![]()

Not even(unless they hit you over the head with it like Isabella or ninjamance you like Anders, Fenris or Merrill), I would prefer if asexual characters stay asexual as far as being a love interest to the player.
That's why I dig Varric for saying nope to F/Hawke and M/Hawke.

Errr, basically Isabela hits on you more than everyone else. In fact, she's probably the only one who makes moves.
Waiting to see quotes.
Advances differ from comments of a sexual nature; can your recognize that?

Yeah I just headcanoned my snarky Hawke playing along with her. He's a major flirt even if nothing will come of it.

To be fair, you're denying the idea of love happening over time, which is a plausible outcome as well.

Isabela's first conversation with men is about how Hawke is the first guy she has seen who can 'hoist the main sail' and if you're a woman its about how everyone in the place will be gawking and grabbing at you. And then she follows it up with an offer for company at the Hanged Man after you've helped her out. Isabela is never shy about her interest.
Also when she says the thing about going to the Hanged Man for company later she gets super super close to Hawke...I've seen that scene many time and I still always expect her to grope Hawke during it. She's...really quite forward. And as far as I can recall, its the only time an LI actually invades your personal space bubble to flirt.

Added to that, asexual doesn't necessarily mean aromantic. I know people who are in relationships with people, romantic ones, they just have varying degrees of DNW when it comes to sex.

Maybe, but I like seeing the SJWs tearing their hair out at Varric expressing only Platonic love to the Player Character.

Honestly i rather prefer Varric stay single and fall in love with someone that's not the PC.
Varric hits too many bro notes for me to see him as an LI.

Even though I romanced Isabela with ladyHawke (who's gay as hell) and I didn't had problems with their flirty dialogues, i totally feel you.
I.e. ladyShepard's interactions with Vega and Jacob. It's like she forgot she's gay and in a relationship.
Vega didn't bother me as much as Jacob though.

must I repeat myself?
"Cursing like a sailor" goes to show how sea dogs have little interest in abiding by etiquette.
Making statements of a sexual nature does not equate interest as a partner; teenagers and men of this country, when gathered, often casually speak of conquests and hookups, but even at my alma mater city, Austin, that didn't mean the congregation was a train.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, see your point...that was very suggestive at the end of fools rush in.
makes much more sense now. "cast wide enough a net and you'll bound to catch some," she did mention, later in the game, that rejections are taken very casually.
Guess she just hands out these kinds of invitations like business cards.

Alistair had a 'worse' ninjamance than Anders, at least you could turn Anders down right away. Really all the romances ive seen apart from the ones in dragon age 2 are kinda Ninja or Pushy.
That's Kind of another reason why I prefer playersexual, they don't assume you're flirting(or want to flirt) anyone just by talking with them though out the game because they're the opposite sex as your character.
What does this even mean?
I dont remember, something about representation and Liara was the first I noticed. so its a positive thing at least.

The concept of influencing people's behavior or outlook is well within reason. Deciding a person's sexuality is not. And while DA handled the hardenings in a seemingly accelerated way (one could argue you were actually influencing them the whole game if you RPed right; the direct choice for the player just doesn't come up 'til the end), I don't think it's nearly as stark as deciding someone's sexual orientation by a choice made in the CC.
Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds as though you are saying the player is deciding/changing the sexuality of the character. I can't see how that is remotely possible. The only way to decide/change something is for it to have already existed as one set thing.

There isn't just one Bianca though. There's Bianca the crossbow. And then there's "Bianca"
Bad things probably happened in varic's life. While it's healthy to move on, I wouldn't want to wipe out his feelings for someone just to be with him. That would seem just a smidgen too vile for me.
