he was a Dalish Mage featured in the possibly longer-than-intended preview of The Masked Empire which has now been pulled from Amazon.

 

I read Asunder but none of the previous books.  He wasn't in Asunder.  I don't recall him from the comics.

I kinda hope Fellassan isn't the BEM. Purely because considering the Inquisitor I plan to play as, and what we can gather from his personality, I think it'll end up being stuck at middling approval with BEM approves +5 one minute and BEM disapproves -5 the next.

I just read the first chapter that was posted in the other thread:

Is the ball that Celene has the same ball where Evangeline saves the Divine when she's attacked by a mage in Asunder? At the beginning of the chapter, Celene and Leliana plan to have the Divine make her speech regarding the mage-templar conflict (which is what she does at the ball in Asunder) and then in Asunder Celene isn't present for the attack -- it seems that Celene, Gaspard, Teagan, et al retired early after the night's excitement. I didn't get a chance to read the extended preview after they took it off of Amazon but does the next chapter reference the blood mage attack on the Divine at all?

Yes that conversation with Liliana is about the ball that is going to happen in asunder. No they are not going to refer to the blood mage attack in Asunder as of yet. It's going to explain why soldiers are seen on the way back to the circle in Asunder. It's going to get very interesting with lost of surprises.

Anyway, it would be nice to see some companions in The Masked Empire, but I'm fine if we have some new characters.

The scene when she attacked  Gaspard when they go hunting ...made me think about it.

But I think she had some fire enchanted dagger , or a magical item and that's how she burned him.

If she was a mage , she wouldn't be able to keep her Empress status , so I guess if she'd attack someone with magic she'd kill them ...And Gaspard would have been pretty shocked (and happy ) to find out about it.

Enchantments don't work like that. They do shoot out from the item. Added the way she burnt him would be impossible to do with out burning herself if she did not have a way to protect and control the fire from the ring. And there is no ring in the lore that shot fire out. The only items that do are staves and you have to channel magical power from the user to get them to fire. The only way she can use the ring the way she does is if she was a mage.

People dye their hair all the time. I could definitely see a roguish elf doing that.

1. They don't have the means to do so in da time. It's ether the hair they have or a wig. No dye's , especially from dark colors to light.

 

2.Also, she has short hair while Sera has long hair. There is not enough time for it to grow out.

 

So no it's not Sera.

There is not one spell that does that nor are they really available to do so. Sorry, but she is not Sera.
