The trick is that he was in the main game.  ;)

Then they took him and his content out for Day 1 DLC to make a buck. I blame EA for that.

I wish he had more to say about anything. ~DLC character problems~

lmfao yeah, I hear you.

Javik is best DLC companion, he was soo good he should have been in the main game....

there's got to be a balance somewhere

I love Javik so much. He was my favorite.

Shale was good though, she had a lot to say.

I'll never understand why Sebastian helped an apostate Hawke. I wish he had more to say about it.

Me, too. It's completely glossed over. It's even more odd when he told my apostate Champion that he should be Viscount.

Nevarra was once a part of free marches and its biggest city, It outgrew its peers in every single aspect and became independent. Starkhaven is now the biggest city in a dump that no one cares about.

Nevarra really was a Free Marches city but what makes you think it was the biggest one? I know no lore info on it. There's only a mention in the WoT that Nevarra was one of the biggest Marcher cities, not the biggest.

Anyways, Starkhaven is an important city and was an important city back then.

Because he felt Hawke was the only one with the influence to reign in the chaos and get Meredith to back down?

I don't dispute that. I was thinking more about how he's in support of something that's technically illegal because apostate Hawke is an illegal mage.

According to WoT: "Mages could not unduly influence rulers or become rulers themselves." (page 95) This is also addressed by Jowan as one of Isolde's issues with Connor being a mage.

I think Sebastian would work really well in Inquisition considering how mad pissed he is at the end of DA2. I really want a vengeful "IN THE NAME OF THE MAKER" Sebastian with a big army who's just ruthless without being a looney.

It would be interesting, I wonder if the reason he was not killable in DA2 is because he had a planned role in one of the canceled DLCs or DA:I?

To be honest, that's probably part of the reason. It was named Exalted March, and that seems like something Seb would play a part in.

It's a shame it got canceled, hopefully significant parts of it will be in DA:I

The developers said they were incorporating parts of it in Inquisition.

David Gaider once mentioned that part of it involved running across the ginormous chains that linked the statues in the harbor. It's the only reason I would like to go back to Kirkwall. So we can run on the chains.

They said, that his story wasn't finished with the main plot, so - yeah. That was most likely the reason.

Only if we can do this:

Edit, yes this a real mod.

Edit #2: No, I have no idea what is up with Morrigan's outfit in that video.

Right after DA2's release Jennifer Hepler popped into the Sebastian thread and mentioned Seb's story wasn't finished yet, but several months later Exalted Marches was canceled. So who knows? Maybe condensed parts of his story made it into Inquisition.

Here is the thread.

People keep saying parts of Exalted March made it into DAI.  I don't know much about Exalted March, however.  And everything about Sebastian seemed unfinished, his romance doesn't have a finality and he just...leaves.  Even if one romances him Varric doesn't say he stays with Hawke, and while that's probably just because they didn't get Varric to re-record the line, it does suggest he left her, probably for Starkhaven.

Guess I'm one of the few who doesn't care for Sebastian but doesn't have a problem with him coming back to DA:I, especially as leader of Starkhaven
