Sorry but on topic I am kinda on the fench with Sebastien. I mostly played mage or range rouge so never used him much as I liked Varic the best, but might be intresting.

Sebastian would be one of the more interesting characters to see return. He had a dreadful challenge to his faith at the end of DA2. He thought it inconceivable that the Maker would have allowed that to happen to Elthina. If Hawke then freed Anders, it would have seemed to him that a good friend had also betrayed him. Even if Hawke did not, he would have seen Meredith go crazy.
Now I only spared Anders once and that was before I got the Sebastian DLC. However, I nearly always sided with the mages and so Sebastian had to come along too. At least one of my Hawkes suggested that Andraste would have approved of their actions and would have been there waving torches and crying freedom too. And the comments about Elthina and Meredith still apply, so Sebastian would be an ideal candidate to join the Inquisition as a potential agent, because of the challenges he had faced to his faith in the Chantry.
I'm surprised that so many people regard him as preachy and annoying. He was far less pushy of his point of view than either Anders or Fenris and was at least prepared to discuss differences in a civilised way. He was far kinder towards Merrill, than the other two were, particularly after the death of the Keeper. His outburst after Anders' bomb was understandable, given his relationship with Elthina, and he was the only person who acknowledged that the culprit for the bomb was standing right there, unlike Meredith who was too eager to use it as an excuse to annul the Circle. I also liked the way his family originally came to power, getting the entire city to sit on the Chantry steps on hunger strike until the corrupt ruler stood down.
I liked Sebastian, thought he was one of the good guys and wouldn't mind meeting up with him again.

I liked Sebastian as well. He's a goody goody type, sure, but he has a niche. One unlike most other human nobles so far. Especially Nathaniel (and possibly Hawke), who's got the whole dark and mysterious thing going on, as Oghren would say. Ideally, Cousland noble is more of a middle ground, and a neutral, like most Grey Wardens.

Yes,he is one of the returning characters I'd want to see, especially if we get a chance to visit Starkhaven, then I want him to king!(I didn't rival him for nothing...
)
He is an interesting character, and contrary to the popular opinion about him he is very open minded for someone dedicated to the chantry, although the limited interaction we had with him was a little disappointing (especially for those who romanced him).

Of course. The scale of that however is quite different.
Well I don't know which invasion you are talking about as Greece was invaded quite a lot. If its the famous Spartan vs Persian story then yes they sure put up a fight and stood against them but fell regardless because it was a power they could not possibly defeat no matter how united.
Also my emphasis was towards right now, not about glories of free marches. Nevarra was part if Free marches when Garahel rallied free marches to battle the blight. Now its not and Nevarra is quite strong, rivaling even Orlais. Kirkwall is also out of the picture and I'm being kind here its worse than that. Now the only place of importance is Starkhaven along with a few and small city states some being mere towns such as Ostwick.
To make things simpler. Imagine Free Marches power rating was 100%. 50% of that was gone when Nevarra left and another 20% after events of kirkwall. Now only 30% percent of it remains.
The Greeks won the war, very decisively in fact.
The Athens navy smashed (as in 90% loss) the Persian one at Salamis and then the combined armies of Greece destroyed the remaining Persian army at Plataea, sooo sounds like you need to do your research.
I would also throw Germany (Or the German states) before the rise of Prussia, it was a backwards part of Europe, often over run and fought over, but when it united it was one of greatest nations in the world.
Starkhaven is a city that under the right leader (Sebastian, he is trying to be a good person so I enjoy that) could rally the rest of the Marches into a formidable state.

I hated Sabastian. Until he got angry at me for sparing Anders. I understood why he was angry. That was his best moment in the game. Seeing him in DA:I would be cool. I really hope he carries out his threat.
I would...

The threat of hunting down Anders, or the threat of razing Kirkwall to the ground?

I don't think there was two threats. He says he will raze kirkwall in hunt for our precious Anders. His words, not mine.

Didn't like Sebastian. Too hypocrite, and a bit too cliche for the writting. Generally, I like religious people, admire how they could be so loyal to their faith, but that was a bit too much. Sebastian talks only about religion, is almost only concerned about religion during all the game. All his discussions with Fenris and Isabela were only about that,... A character almost uni-dimensional for me infortunately.
That said, I'm interested to see him again in DA:I, eager to see what he is going to do with Starkaven.

If it were me personally, hunting and killing Anders. I couldn't destroy an entire city because of one terrorist. But, if Sabastian attacks Kirkwall that would be welcomed drama to look forward to.

I'll admit, I'm more amused by Sebastian at this point than taking him seriously. What fiery words he had... but will he keep them, or has he (yet again) changed his mind?
I don't believe he will be a decisive or particularly important figure. The fact that he can be enraged against either the Templars or the Mages just makes it less so.
I the player will probably be amused if in DAI he comes to ally with my pro-Circle/vaguely pro-mage Inquisitor just because my Hawke kept Anders alive to fight with the Templars.

Nevarra was once a part of free marches and its biggest city, It outgrew its peers in every single aspect and became independent. Starkhaven is now the biggest city in a dump that no one cares about.
Its one of the wealthiest cities in all of thedas

I hope that Sebastian carries through with his threat to Anders (if spared) and that his rivalmance with Hawke is acknowledged and had some impact (like a political marriage alliance)
