Keep voicing hatred of Sebastian, and the developers will keep him alive just to spite you.

I suggest some reverse psychology. Just say you like Sebastian. A lot. Then he'll die eventually.

. This isn't ASoIaF, fan favorites stay alive, and even get resurrected

... Sebastian peaceful and compassionate? I don't even know what to say...

Look at all of his dialogues with companions, party banters, conversations with Hawke. The only times he's aggressive is towards people who just killed his family and loved ones. Never an innocent. Hawke is the same, you kill Quentin no matter what. Anders is totally ok with killing innocents, including a Templar that is trying to help the mages.

This is true.  However, to be fair to Kain, he did suggest turning Anders and Merrill into the Templars.  Varric politely reminds him that he has to go through Hawke first.

I should have been more clear. Anders was only one small facet of why Sebastian got on my nerves. It was how he reacted, with threatening to burn a city to the ground, that irritated me much more. Questioning my orders is fine, but don't take your grief out on an entire city. I let Anders live so he could help save the very people he had damned.

He never did take it out on the city.(which was already burning because of Anders) He threatened to, I've made horrible threats during a heated argument but I would never actually do those things.

I agree with you....until he threatens to burn the damn city to the ground because I didn't do what he wanted.

Sebastian is so timid he can't even take vengeance for his family by himself. He's not particularly mean. Even his loyalty powerset reflects this.. he's very torn on accepting his chantry role or becoming a normal person again.

How would you know that though? And who's to say we won't see him doing just that in Inquisition?

Burning Kirkwall to the ground can only be an improvement

They're both dangerous, I wish you could have turned them in if you wanted to. He also doesn't go behind your back and do it anyway he respects you enough for that and doesn't lie to you and sneak around.

Salt the earth that nothing shall go, and scatter the ashes of the buildings over a flowing body of water.  Might as well go all out.

You're probably right, actually. What a cesspool.

I guess the Arishok thought the same thing.

If that day came, I would agree that it's horrible. I don't think that will happen.

Ok. I better not start talking about innocents. I'm just going to say that I just don't see peaceful and compassionate people running around on the battlefield in the first place.

That is actually enough to put a murder knife through his skull there and then. But unfortunately..

We can finish what Anders started, his true legacy and struggle, the desire to see that godsforaken cesspit turned into might fine ash and smoke

When there's some effort it can be okay, but there's only one fool here. Well, maybe two. But definitely a small amount.

I honestly wish I could put faith in him like you do. But I made my choice. I kept Anders alive. Seb's gotta deal with it. My Inquisitor is honestly going to be ambivalent to him, until we know what he has been up to since DA2. But if he raised that army like he said he would...

Either way he wont be raising any armies in my playthroughs since I kill Anders every time :/ though if it does change things, I'll have to make an import in the keep where Anders is alive to see what changes.

Anyways, it should be said that they're written by the same writer. I find it hard to hate one over the other, when it's all part of one person's mind and agenda.

Opinions. Anyone who suggests turning my friend anywhere dies, if I have such the means.
