Well, people seem quite certain he is one. If not, that is what fanart and fanfiction is for isn't it? 

 

It's pretty rare I outright loathe a companion (Hear that, Corso? You're special, in your own way.), so I am also pretty optimistic about everyone. I just happen to be most optimistic about DHMG.

Never really counted the companions in SWTOR when thinking of Bioware's characters. Only mmo that managed to pull me in and make me feel like I'm experiencing a story rather than going around grinding, was TSW. So I think that just affected my views on the companions, didn't feel like they counted as much. Though there were some that made a bit of an impact.

I hope that if you don't (or can't) romance DHMG, he hooks up with Beardy McWarden. Because... because it'd be awesome. And they'd have a facial hair party. And because I really want there to be gay romances outside of the one I'll ultimately end up in. Having two gay couples in the Inquisition party would be pretty NEAT.

Skadge. There is literally nothing redeeming about him, and I resent that I have to look at his ugly ****** face, let alone tolerate him giving my Jawa a hard time.

 

(Corso is my second least favorite, but it's because I hate him as a LI. I can tolerate him as a platonic partner-in-crime.)

Oh Skadge, I kind of feel sorry for the characterization heaped on him.

I've got a pint of ice cream and neatly organized folders of fanart ready in case the companions I want to romance are unavailable, so I'll be fine.

With E3 a few days away and the possibility of a DHMG picture/quote before that I was wondering... is anyone worried about being disappointed?  I'm definitely lowering my expectations a little because awesome fanart has set the bar so high, but I expect to be at least satisfied when we see more of him.

 

Hm, not really. 

 

I think the concept for DHMG/Dorian is fascinating by itself, even without all of the other stuff that people have built up around the character. The idea of a Tevinter magister in the party is pretty cool, and it sounds like he has an interesting personality.

 

(For example, he's almost certainly the mage that Mary mentioned has *explosive* clashes with Vivienne.)

I feel you! The Dalish never really caught my interest and I was never a huge fan of "part of the clan or bust, outsiders get lost" setting and mindset.

 

As for Dorian, I have no doubts that he'll be an option. I'm still expecting him to be a gay option, though, so I probably wouldn't get around to him until a third or fourth playthrough when I roll a male Inquisitor.

 

And if he's not an option, it's not so bad! My favorite characters in the series were ones that weren't romance options! (Sten, Shale and Varric). They're DA companions so chances are we'll love them either way and a romance would just be a dollop of icing on a great cake.

Yeah, the only real playthrough I think I can do right now is my Tophquisitor, who will be a Dalish Mage who hates all the rules she has to follow being a First or whatever.

 

As for LIs, I agree. While there are several in various games I would have loved to have a romance plot with, they were still great characters.

Depends what you keeps your hopes up on.

 

The only thing that may disappoint me is his mustache not being as grand as in several artworks. If the companion description is to be believed he might turn out a very interesting character.

With so much banter, fanart and general speculation we've come up with an interesting idea of how Dorian might look and behave.  I've avoided getting attached to preconceived ideas of most of the other companions but failed miserably with DHMG so I think I "fear" the initial shock of my imagined Dorian clashing with actual DHMG.  I'm sure it's nothing I won't get over or used to quickly, unless for some crazy reason he's not Dorian.  That'd be too much for me

Yes please!  Let's get two companions per day through Monday so we can see them all before DA:I's E3 panel.  The forum buzz from the steady release of images/info could help us feel more prepared for the craziness that will ensue after E3

In all honesty, I think companions are the priority, first and foremost. Idk what we will get for the advisors.

I don't usually watch E3 live, but isn't the EA press conference Monday then the DA:I panel is Wednesday?  Do you think we'll see much of the companions on Monday or do you think they'll wait until the 11th?

Press Conference is Monday. Since they have a very short amount of time during that, I'd expect a trailer of some sort during the Press Conference. However, there is a live DAI "All Access" Demo right after the Press Conference, and then on Tuesday there is an actual official demo.

I am so hoping we'll get a DHMG reveal today (if not just so I can stop saying DHMG and just say Dorian finally) it's ridiculous. Especially given the level of detail we saw in Sera's reveal as opposed to her "Last Supper" appearance, which is all we have for.. *sigh* DHMG. And the quote, while still the only thing we have from her, gave a teeny bit of insight into her character and make me infinitely more excited for her, and I want that excitement/insight for him.
