I think Arcane Warrior is the closest to his appearance / design. On the other side, as I remember from the video yesterday, Alexius is his mentor and an undead dude is with him (Leliana kills him). So necromage could also fit. Though then, Solas would be a Fade mage, and Vivienne a Knight Enchanter?

I'm so happy and relieved that he is indeed Dorian.

I don't know if you guys are talking about the big guy or the little guy, but let's just say the little guy can make a banana... disappear rather quickly
Was talking about the big guy (nom nom), but now you have....intrigued me..

I asked earlier but it was buried quickly, but does anyone else think Redcliffe is where we recruit Dorian?
Not really... Redcliffe's main plot is meant to be the mages and Templars, not the Venatori.
I expect we'll recruit Dorian when the Venatori plot is significantly introduced, whenever and wherever that is.

The demo made me think he could be a necromancer.
Spoiler
Hm, but Dorian's dialogue established that he was shocked at Alexius' actions - "what have you done?!", etc.
Doesn't sound at all like someone who was used to raising the dead at the drop of a hat, and he is meant to be a non-typical magister.

Okay, it just seems like it fits why he is there so could be you two run into each other in Redcliffe Castle or near it.

Unless it's already been stated, and I don't think it has been, the companions don't necessarily have the same skill trees as the player characters. Perhaps they have their own "extra" tree to make them relatively unique.
In DA2, they came their own specialization that was often a mix of two of the player character's specialization trees. For example, Fenris had both Templar and Reaver abilities in his specialization.
So I believe that Dorian may not be a knight enchanter or necromage after all. I suspect he's the character that can "graft life unto flesh" character that Maevaris brings up completely out of nowhere in a comic with a limited word budget. Given that he's surprised at what his mentor has done, it is possible that his mentor took it to the next level with necromancy. Perhaps Dorian is actually a "life mage", not necessarily just a healer but also one that has power over life and death magic, IE entropy. It certainly fits with the Tevinter theme.
I'd personally love it.

I'm just happy at the possibility that he would be the first dark haired male we had in Dragon Age.
When I first saw him on screen, I was startrucked at his skin complexion. It's very manly.
If he is indeed the m/m option, I would be so happy.

This is how I feel when I first see him, fangirling everywhere.

That interviewer was just terrible.
Agreed. Also, I wouldn't mind if Dorian were to show off his glorious 'stache in the company of a different inquisitor, doing different stuff in a different area.

He was a bit... scattered. I felt like he could have steered the direction of the conversation a bit better, asked about things we don't already know about, etc. But I wasn't expecting much from a ten minute interview anyway.

The one on Gamespot, but never mind. I accidentally posted that here instead of the Twitter thread.
I could hear more of Dorian's line about Alexius in the demo- it's definitely English-y of some sort, but it doesn't sound like a typical generic fantasy accent.

I'm somewhat hoping he speaks with a Mid-Atlantic dialect. It would be very old Hollywood-esque, and very befitting of his character design.
That said, Dorian is definitely the companion I'm most excited for; the wit! The brazenness! The moustache! It shall be glorious. Also really hoping he's the m/m romance.

Mid-Atlantic would be kinda neat, actually!
I definitely can't hear it clearly enough to be sure, and I'm not that familiar with accents anyway. Interested to find out, though.

Now see, I'm hoping that companions have their own individual specialization. I'd like to see him as a close range, melee and magic user, but judging from his attire I doubt that will happen.
I can't see a positive/non sinister aspect to necromancy, as his mentor is obviously well up on that whole thing. Any thoughts on how it could apply to Dorian?

Because of the slave traders from Tevinter? We've seen slave traders from Rivani and Kirkwall, does that mean that everyone in those countries are evil? Of course there is going to be evil people from Tevinter, there are going to be evil people all around Thedas, that doesn't mean you can just generalize everybody. Like all of Fereldan are burley stupid barbarians and all Orlesians are snobs whom can only fight with daggers. My experience with Tevinters from previous games begs to differ.

I was pretty sure he would be Dorian. You seems like a Dorian. He was the companion I was most excited to hear about! I'm enjoying the idea he will be more of a revolutionary thinker. That will perfectly pair with my first character, so please let that be true.
