So I just made a deal with a gay friend of mine, if Dorian is gay he'll bang him for me and if Cullen is straight I'll bang him for him, that's what friends are for...
And if they're bi, you're bang them together. Polygon threesome, anyone?

A magical Freddie Mercury is also acceptable comparison. Now I am hoping Dorian will sing, "I want to Break Free."

Yeah I went there and decided that's not the kind of Multiplayer BioWare would ever create, it would also be a bit weird...
We're both up for banging IB though, again not together...
With the announcement of Sera being a lesbian, does anyone else have a sneaking suspicion that Dorian is the gay option? Having Solas be the gay romance would mean that both elves in the party are homosexual, and I don't know if they'd do that... (And we know Cullen is bisexual at most since he's established liking women in DAO.)
I had the same reasoning myself. By elimination, Dorian is the gay one.
Duncan: likely be straight. Sheryl Chee teased his possibility.
I assume you mean Blackwall? What are you referring to?

Don't knock it till you try it. lol, j/k
Ironbull is being said in an interview that he would jump in bed with anyone, so he could be a fling or the bi option.
If Dorian is gay then my second playthrough will be a male elf for him. My first playthrough has to be a lady, though.
Not particularly geared towards anyone else at the moment, but IB is intriguing.

Yeah that's how it's looking, it's good news to me because I will have a femqunari playthrough, it works well. Having said that, he's become my favourite of the companions so far...

I wonder suddenly how many players will chose at least for one playthrough the sex of their inquisitor based on the sexual preference of their prefered LI.

Not me! ![]()
I'd rather he was bisexual so I have the option of whether I romance him with my female Inquisitor or my male. I must admit though that if Sera is a lesbian that puts a real damper on the plans for my male Inquisitor. I may find differently once I'm in the game and get to know them better but at the moment neither Cassandra or Vivienne appeals to me, so with Sera ruled out, it looks like he may well be bisexual so he has a chance with the more attractive male options.
If Dorian's gay I'm totally gonna play as a male to romance him!
Depending on who the ladies get aside from Cullen I might not play as a female at all this time around ![]()

I admit to liking to form a basic "plan of attack" for each playthrough. Dorian is in that plan of attack one way or another, preferred genitals be damned.
Sera being the gay woman does not make me feel any stronger about Dorian being gay or not. This is probably partly because I want him to be bi. ![]()
Honestly, at this point, I'm thinking Solas won't be an option at all.
I just noticed that! Oh Maker, maybe when we give our companions plot related presents we'll actually see them interact with them. Can you imagine? Maybe we'll give Dorian mustache wax and he'll actually hold it! Maybe we can give Viv an Orlesian hat and actually watch her try it on! Maybe we can share a bottle of alcohol with Iron Bull, passing it back and forth!
Edit: I just remembered we can do the alcohol sharing thing with Fenris is DA2. But my point stands!

Yep and hopefully Cullen is the straight one.
God no. I'd rather have Solas than Blackwall and I really don't want Solas.

I feel similar to this. I could be mistaken, but I honestly have the feeling that Solas won't be romanceable.

I'm assuming after Alexius' son is murdered, Alex makes him a zombie to keep around or whatnot. You know, that crazed parent who can't part with dead child, or maybe he's just a horrible guy. Thinking former. It's very possible Dorian has used necromancy or learned it, but to see someone do that to their own child is a whole new level of ew.
The Tevinter stigma's getting old though, so it's about time we had a 'moderate' among them. They still have a superiority complex as a nation and don't get along with most, but seem to still trade and such. I'd say most of their outward trade we've seen in game is the negative ala slave trade, tho. I never once assumed everyone in Tevinter was a dick. They've had uprisings before of the non-magical ones, and I wouldn't be surprised if some magical ones have wanted change or whatever. Is Dorian representing Tevinter eventually in the conflict and going to possibly keep them out of the conflict down the line or is he just going to speak out about his own people and intervene with their agents? I'd love for an endgame option of the Inquisitor leaving with him and going to the Imperium to help with the reform. (It wouldn't be the first time a companion goes to Tevinter - Wynn and Shale can on certain playthroughs).
Personally, I'm wondering if Dorian is a bit of a nostalgist. I thought I heard somewhere that he wanted Tevinter like it used to be, which was the Empire that spanned most of Thedas? Maybe someone heard that wrong. It would be an interesting twist if he was for reform but still "oh this would be so much better if it was the Tevinter Imperium all over again" and constantly is rattling off ancient Tevinter history. Kind of impossible to return to the glory that was Rome as we know. Anyway, my mumblings about lore I barely understand aside, he's the most interesting companion/LI out there for me as I find the Tevinters the most intriguing society in the verse outside of Orlesians, Antivans, and Qun. Plus I'm a sucker for anything Byzantine, even if it's just "inspired by."
Oh, but I am in the make Dorian bi camp. Please ![]()
I think Solas may be the one who came out hotter than they meant them to be, or maybe that's Blackwall. I doubt either of them are LIs at this point. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if one of them was a LI, as long as Dorian was one too, but I really think Iron Bull and Dorian are going to be the two other guy LIs. They all have me interested, so I won't mind if I'm wrong, but Dorian is the must-have for me. If he's not a LI I'll send Bioware a strongly worded letter calling them big meanie-pants.
If we're going by the "who does Sjofn think is hot" metric (and really, why wouldn't we be?
), Blackwall is the "oops, he's hot" one.
Really what it is, is less "oops he's hot" and more "it takes all kinds in this crazy world." It would be difficult to make Solas less attractive to me physically, but yet there are people who think he's the bee's knees. Dorian is probably the hottest dude Dragon Age has given me to leer at, but there are people who think he isn't attractive at all. And so people want to romance the person who makes their motor run, so basically everyone is hoping they're the ones to get lucky (hur). And we're in that heady time where anything is possible.

Take it. You deserve it.
I'm going to take him in the night. Yup.

I guess the reason I'm worried about Dorian being gay is because I can't see either IB, Blackwall or Cullen being gay, Solas...well it's already been discussed, what with Sera's orientation it's not likely to happen with him.... I don't know.
