Dorian: I've heard the tales but i never thought it possible, an actual prop item and i'm actually going to touch it!
Maker this is my best day ever.
Cube sugar on a chain is truly magical

Take it. You deserve it.
Aww thankyou, I'm out of likes!
Oh wait, no I'm not...glitch!
Well there was a time after the formation of the Chantry in Orlais when Tevinter nominally came under them, mages were not allowed in positions of power and presumably sacrificing slaves in blood magic rituals was severely restricted (i.e. it only went on in secret). So may be Dorian is thinking back to then. I don't think Tevinter ever restricted mages in the same way they were in other parts of Thedas and they have never given up having slaves (the only Archon who tried was killed for his trouble) but it could be that things were a bit more tolerable then, when mages weren't openly flaunting their power, and this allowed morally minded mages to flourish. The problem currently in Tevinter is that there are good, moral, mages and Dorian may well be one of them but they don't last long. We have the testimony of both Fenris and Lambert to back this up. The latter had a very good mage friend who became the Black Divine and several others who supported him. But once in positions of power, they used increasingly corrupt magic in order to stay there. Lambert thought his friend's success would allow them to change Tevinter for the better but instead his friend became like all the rest. So Dorian is probably well off out of there because decent mages aren't valued.
Then again, may be he does wish for the glory days of old Tevinter before Andraste - Maker help us!
First Tevinter mage companion...I'm excited. Also, it seems like there's a good chance that the main baddie is from Tevinter or associated with the country. Also, did anyone see the Tevinter soldier come in the room with the demons? First time seeing one in a DA game.
Why is Dorian so gorgeous...
Why? ![]()
If the Iron Bull is the bi romance and Dorian is the gay romance (which I see as likely) then ill be so conflicted because i have no clue which one to romance with my Male Qunari Mage. :/
Both
And then they fight over you, glorious banter ![]()
By the way, I'm really curious about what Dorian's gonna be like when he's jealous
Do you like big size differences? If yes, then use him to romance Dorian and choose a smaller race for Iron Bull. If no, then Iron Bull should get your QunQuisitor, and Dorian should get one of the other races.
I'm doing a split between the two, if they're both for men. Iron Bull will wind up with a male elf, and Dorian with a male human.
Here is something I don't think we've discussed yet;
Which social class in Tevinter do you think Dorian is from?
Was he originally born to Soporati parents, but elevated to Laetan when his magic started to manifest? Was he born into Laetans? Or was he even part of the Altus, descending from a long line of powerful magisters whose ancestors were the original Dreamers?
wiki link for those who don't know whats what, its under 'Culture'

It would be interesting if he is an Altus mage, particularly since he is so interested in reforming his country...I wonder if he could be a dreamer...I mean, it's possible right?

I don't see why not? The Inquisition's followers are supposed to be the best-of-the-best, nothing ranks higher in Tevinter other than the Imperial Archon.

I doubt we're going to have a dreamer as a companion , you never know , but dreamers are overpowered.
But not on the battlefield , their main power is go take a nap and influence people through their dreams.
Althought with the Breach and the fade/thedas merging in certain area , it's possible they could be useful in a different manner.
Since they are almost like Spirits/demons , they can have an influence on the fade.

And the Black Divine, though IIRC, they are the same guy currently, no?
Though saying that, I'd like if he was kind of an underdog sort of character, all the other magisters placate him like ''Yes yes Dorian, corruption is bad, now can we focus on the plans for the new blood donation centre?''

Well, even if he isn't a Dreamer, I'd love to enlist a Dreamer (Feynriel) to help out the Inquisition. Maybe to help give some more irritating nobles a push.
Assuming he ends up being a good person...
I want a 'Portrait of Dorian' in which the deep, dark secret of Dorian's portrait of his inner character is that it is just as youthful and handsome as himself.
I wonder if he did something famous to raise himself to magister status. Or perhaps he was just a very strong mage.

Assuming he is the mage Maevaris mentions, I'd go with the second. Or even both, perhaps he become renowned for it?
