I would LOVE an article on the DA site about Dorian today...
I keep expecting one to pop up. I don't know if that's hopeful wishing but they already revealed him so it would make sense.
EDIT: Hopefully, they won't say "soon" if someone asks about it.

I hope this isn't an indication of a previous relationship with Alexius. Squick.
Edit: OOPS, misread your post. No, I think it's indicative of a previous relationship with Felix, not Alexius. Alexius is like 100 years old and already has way too many creepy Danarius vibes.
A previous relationship often seems to be how the developers signpost that a character is lesbian or gay. It's an extremely unambiguous way of telling that information to the player, in a way that in this case also leads to more pathos.
Dorian must have previously mentioed that he cared for Felix, since the Inquistor's line indicates she already knew that fact - this seems to be a pretty significant development. They can't be talking about Alexius, because it was Felix that died a long time ago.
(If I had to guess, Dorian's conversation topics when you first find out that Alexius is at Redcliffe are something like "oh hey Inquisitor he's my former master so I know all about him and OH BY THE WAY i was also in a relationship with his son")
The name Dorian was a bit of a giveaway to begin with, but I think we can be *at the very least* very confident that he'll be an m/m option.

Basically: Dorian seems to be am m/m love interest
semi-confirmed rumour
We'll have to wait until the full demo release but this is very good evidence, assuming that the summary a few pages back is accurate.
(When they showed Felix the first time I was actually thinking that exactly this sort of thing might happen.)

Okay, this gave me pause.
What does that even mean?
Picture of Dorian Gray. Dorian is bisexual and Oscar Wilde is an icon of the LGBT community.

The first time I bumped into the name "Dorian", it was a blood elf warlock in WoW so... More or less the same?

What makes you think Dorian Gray is bisexual?

Did you read the book? It was even used as evidence at Oscar Wilde's sodomy trial.

Sybil. Not that he cares about her, mind. Now Basil and Alan I read as gay. Been a while since I had to read it.

Maybe giveaway was the wrong word, but I think it was suggestive. Names obviously aren't a signifier of sexuality, but literary references can be, if that's what the writers were intending.
It made me think of Dorian Gray (as people mentioned above), Oscar Wilde, and by extension the dandy archetype.

Yes, I did. Otherwise, I wouldn't have asked that. He only had relationships with women in the book. And didn't seem to like Basil back that way.

People with name Dorian are excellent at analyzing, understanding, and learning. They tend to be mystics, philosophers, scholars, and teachers. Because they live so much in the mind, they tend to be quiet and introspective, and are usually introverts. When presented with issues, they will see the larger picture. Their solitary thoughtfulness and analysis of people and world events may make them seem aloof, and sometimes even melancholy.
nothing with gay or bisexual, damn i hope that he will not be another Magister gay

Yeah, but the devs talk over him so it's hard to hear. Rumor says they'll post a version where you can hear him after E3.

I don't get how Sybil has anything to do with him being bi?
Basil I read as gay too, def. Alan I didn't think anything that way about. Henry I read as gay (or maybe bi?) as well too. He was Wilde's alter ego after all (or at least I felt that way).

Okay... but Dorian was named after the writers had a discussion where the old Hercules cartoon came up.
In other words, it's reaching a bit to suggest that sharing a name with an LGBT character is evidence of anything. ![]()

He's pretty into Lord Henry.
Edit: Which version did you read? There were some that were scrubbed of mentions of homosexuality.

Nothing would delight me more. I already have an opinion on Cullen and IB doesn't appeal. But I'm skeptical he's available for my preferred gender.
