Both are amazing writers so I don't care either way

They're all spectacular, and each have produced characters that I adore. It's interesting the fixation we (including me) have on who wrote what when it really doesn't matter.

David comes in, posts a comment --> Me: Ooh, I wonder if David wrote him!
Sheryl comes in, likes fanart --> Me: Ooh, I wonder if Sheryl wrote him!

 

This would literally happen if any writer came into this thread or mentioned/referenced this character in any way, so why do I do it at all? I guess it just makes for fun speculation. On the plus-side, when we do find out at least I know I won't be disappointed!

Seeing The Iron Bull with the reaver spec didn't make me happy. I wanted companions to have different ones to the PC

Pfft, so far it's been mostly correct specualtion

People speculated that Patrick Weekes wrote the Iron Bull - and we were correct

People guessed  that Sheryl Chee wrote blackwall - and once again we were correct!

David Gaider constantly visits Dorian's thread and reblog on Tumblr  ots of his fanart

That's what I thought about Sheryl though, since she was lurking a bit too and sneakily liking the fanart

We know Gaider wrote only one companion besides Cassandra. Cole is his baby, so he would be my guess.

Cole was a companion mentioned in the survey, though - and with DHMG being Dorian, practically everything else in that survey turned out to be true.

 

What are the chances that the blond guy with floppy hair is anybody else, when the most obvious answer is that he's Cole? 

 

(I've said this before, but it looks like it was too late in August 2012 to change anything much about the companions - remember that David said Maevaris was developed too late to make it into the game as a party member, and the first comic she was in launched in August 2012. It would've been written some months before that.)

When I read that Sheryl had written Ser Bar...Blackwall, I seriously thought, "she can't possibly have written Dorian as well, because it shouldn't be possible for a single author to write two men with glorious facial hair at the same time."

Not sure why that sound so true in my head.

I assumed from this that he wrote two companions, one of whom is also an LI, and a non-companion LI, possibly Cullen. Partly because all the C's and partly because he said somewhere he had to do a character rewrite and Cullen's original author left. Of course, I could be barking up entirely the wrong tree, wouldn't be the first time

In any case, it'll probably be Leliana, Dorian, Varric, or Cassandra since they were in the trailers/demos.

I think they were meant to be a replacement for follower friday as well as teasers for E3 but I could be wrong.

I'm still sad about that, Maybe she will be in a DLC or a future game though.
