Because life for elves is already so swell, ahhh... For their sake, hope not.

Same. As if we needed another reason for elven-human relations to go down the tube.

Yeah i've seen it mentioned before... I reckon there is a big chance that it's him.

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE TENTACLE?!

"Oh, Inquisitor, my love! The blazing inferno you have ignited in my loins is a wildfire, the spreading of which not even the poets of old could have properly described!

But before I ravage you as a dwarf does a roasted nug, there is something...I've not been entirely truthful about."

"Oh, Dorian! You know you can tell me anything! I'll always luuuuuuurve you no matter what!

1fVAqJy.gif "How delightful! I suppose it was silly of me to feel ashamed of telling you anything at all, my honey covered sex platypus!

Ok, here goes....

WITNESS MY FINAL FORM!"

I think it is odds on he is the necromancer.   His mentor is one after all.   May be he is going to convince us necromancy isn't so bad.

Vivienne's picture is shown with Knight enchanter - so that will be her specialty.

Solas is meant to be an expert on the Fade and Rift mage suggests something along these lines.

I just pictured Dorian and Scribbles inside a mounted trophy bear, sneakingly giving info on how to take down a Tevinter magister while complaining why there is no honey inside it.

YES.

On a related note, can you imagine how awesome it would be if the Big Bad behind the Breach is actually an ancient elven dreamer? With the elves loving to blame humans for everything and the Chantry loving to blame Tevinter for everything, I rather dislike the idea of a magister (whether current or ancient) being behind it all.

What possible reason would an elven dreamer have for tearing the Veil and creating this whole mess?

I doubt ancient elven aristocracy was fond of humans, and they're the bosses now. I doubt they thought much of elven commoners, and that's practically every elf that is left. They were just like the magisters: cruel and full of themselves. For all we know, they attacked Tevinter, maybe because they saw them as vermin. Quicklings, anyone?

Same. As if we needed another reason for elven-human relations to go down the tube.

But an ancient elven ****** is bad for everyone, including current elves, just like an ancient Tevinter ****** (like Cory) is bad for everyone. If anything, it could serve as motivation for the two races banding together.

I will say this: Dorian has an impeccable fashion sense.

For a racist/prejudiced person, whatever have you. It wouldn't matter if it was ancient, or whether current elves agree or not. It's an elf, elves are bad.
The distrust of elves stems from Tevinter times. From Ancient Elven times. It has pointy ears, all that matters. So I doubt it would help the elves.

And if it was a Tevinter dreamer, all current magisters would get blamed for it, even those who actively fought against it. Like, say, Dorian himself. Unless it's some kind of Fade entity, some group or the other will get its share of for it.

Plus, you're assuming anyone other than the Inquisitor and people close to him will know who caused the Veil Tears. If the final confrontation happened in the Fade (which for me seems very likely) how would the world know what happened there?

That's why I hope the cause of it all is of neither race or any nation.

Whaat? Are you saying Varric would willingly leave that piece of info out of his next book?

Better question, why wouldn't the Inquisitor tell people what happened when this whole mess is over?

Death. Amnesia. Price for closing the Breach. Not having bigots blame elves/magisters/whoever for the actions of one crazy person. And many others.

For some reason, I doubt we are necessarily gonna die. Particularly because they have a post-game that you play afterwards.

No it didn't. ME2 was the Mass effect game that let you continue playing after the main quest was completed.

As long as Shepard(and thus 2 squadmates) lives, yes.

I remember ME3's "you can continue playing and just hang on for the DLC!" pretty distinctly because at the moment it felt like a slap in the face.

It just took you back in the main plot before Cronus.

Well, they didn't follow through it since all the dlcs can be played only before the end of the main quest, while in ME2 you can play them after the end of the main quest.
