Someone keeps talking about shaving Dorian's mustache in the tag over on Tumblr...seriously. Now I see him crying after this (or gets hardened dialogue lol).
I'd prefer if they don't have facial ref models and just went wild with the engine and made their own. Or the character is based on multiple people. He kind of reminds me of this model, but maybe it's the hair and nose at the most. We still don't have enough excellent high quality screencaps of Dorian. We need more!
^that model really does look like him, especially in that one side-view shot of him looking grumpy from the gameplay vid.
It would be cool if the game took place over an extended period of time and thus the companions appearances changed minutely, but I doubt that will happen. The 'stache ain't going anywhere.

A bit off topic, but I was looking up Tevinter Cities and came across "Teraevyn", and it connected to Rhys. Rhys was sent there with an elder elven mage from Orlais to this consulate in Teraevyn. I always imagined those two countries rather locked off from each other, someone from either country wandering off and into the other would end up in trouble. And then, the Templars allowing it. Lots to learn it seems.
I think it was probably a bit of cultural exchange, almost a gesture of goodwill between the White and Black Divines. I think what you're claiming is a Qunari ideal, but what someone aspires to isn't necessarily what happens. But I shall move this to the Iron Bull thread - sorry everyone!
What are everyone's general plans for a Dorian romance? IF he ends up being bi, will you go at him with a female or male first, and what race? Thanks to fanart I'm pretty much set on a male elf, but someone suggested the QunarixTevinter dynamic might be interesting. I really hope we get some race/class specific dialogue in the romances, anyways.
If he's bi, I still think I'd romance him mainly with male inquisitors, though I'd probably romance him with a female inquisitor too. As for race/class: Male Human Mage (Knight Enchanter) and Male Dwarf Warrior (Reaver, most likely). The situation is this: I want to romance Cassandra and Dorian with one of these two inquisitors, but there is the potential for either of them being race-restricted. If neither are restricted, then I'd go with Male Dwarf/Cassandra as my first playthrough and Male Human/Dorian immediately after, though I'll probably end up having another Male Dwarf (either Champion Warrior, or Artificer Rogue)/Dorian playthrough too.
I really have no idea what race/class to choose for a potential femquisitor/Dorian playthrough... Maybe Female Qunari Warrior.

I don't expect Cassandra to be race-gated, or Dorian for that matter. Honestly, I only really see maybe Iron Bull and/or Varric having race restrictions. People are just up in arms about it so they're casting race-restrictions on every character based on historical rivalries, etc etc, and it has suspicions up. I don't think Dorian would rebel against Tevinter extremes just to perpetuate an anti-Qunari policy in the sack, ya know? That's my thoughts, anyways.
