I always found it awkward to romance people in games, especially if it had such content like BW games does. Similar to when I watch movies with sex scenes and such. I feel like I'm not supposed to be there, intruding on a rather intimate scene. BW had two characters that litterally knocked my socks off, like love at first sight, and ironically they were Samara and Aveline.
But I apparently looove flirting, I'm going to flirt with everyone. I almost feel like a terrible person. So I don't have a character planned for Dorian.

Apparently we can throw a jar full of bees at our enemies in combat. I don't know why...
Solas also looks like Nicholas Cage. You know what that means!

This is one feature I am looking forward to. Think of the possibilities! Maybe you can train the bees to do formations and communicate with large groups of enemies! Maybe you can teach them to sing! Or they will provide honey and beeswax for various companions. Somebody should like cake with honey.

I thought you were talking about all of the speculation in general, not just the romance stuff. We had a nice discussion about necromancy/healing and Alexius earlier this week/last week.
Oh, no I meant the romance stuff. More so the things like "here are my four Inquisitors that are going to romance Dorian", because it sounds like people are actually fairly invested in that speculation, to the point that they're already starting to imagine the way they'll play the game.
(And frankly, I'm a little frustrated with how much the romance and sexuality discussion seems to utterly dominate conversations about the characters. I know we don't know much about them at this point, and that people are speaking up out of genuine enthusiasm and passion, but it can get tiring to go to pretty much any thread and have every post be about which companions will be available, in which combinations, and all the drama and fighting that follows from that. I guess I don't treat the DA romances as earnestly as others do, and my main interest is in how romantic interactions affect the type of story that is being told.)
Even the Alexius and Felix stuff seemed to be born out of a main discussion on whether the demo hinted that Dorian was available for male romances - which I admittedly started, but now sort of regret bringing up.

Ohhhhh, is this like the Dorian squid thing? I saw an adorable fanart of Solas holding a jar of bees over on the Solas page so I had to ask!

Anyways, where do you guys think we'll pick up Dorian? Redcliffe? Western Approach?
I have no freakin' clue. Maybe he's being attacked by the Venatori somewhere.

Well you see, when little Quizy was just a child a mean man dropped a jar of honey on her. And, on her way home she was attack by bees. Now, Quizy always carries a jar of bees hopping to one day show the mean man the same pain he caused her.

I suppose the bonus will be that he had six fingers on his right hand.

This makes me wish BW will release the romance charter so we can put our minds to rest. But patience.
I would be happy to just have a quote from him. Romance can come later. First, quote+ picture. Then character profile. Then voice actor video. And then, after some time of silence they will hit us with the romance chart and people will have very strong emotions about it.

Hmmm, is he an ex-Venatori? I think maybe that's why he's mainly wearing white. Or maybe he still is a Venatori (like how Iron Bull *spoiler from his profile* is still a spy for the Qunari *end spoiler*).
Also, from Vivienne's profile:
[DA]: Does her personality conflict with her fellow companions, or does she fit right in with the Inquisition?
[MK]: She takes great pride in her work, and her interactions with a certain unnamed Inquisition mage can be a little… explosive. In a good way. Mostly.
Folks have speculated the "certain unnamed Inquisition mage" is Dorian (since Solas had been officially named for quite a while before then). It's the "she takes great pride in her work" part that makes me rise an eyebrow. Two things we know is that a) Viv is trying to put the circle back together and
she's an adviser/something in the imperial court. So, what do you guys think?!

Pretty much this! I had hoped it'd be out tonight but maybe not, considering the Iron Bull video they released tonight.

Good speculation, all seems very probable, including the Venatori connection (Alexius is listed under it so Dorian likely was affiliated at some point).
There's some Dorian-included artworks I haven't seen before posted over in the Solas thread if anyone is interested. At least I don't think I've seen them in this thread before - you're a thorough bunch.

I like it when people use
instead of b )
Anyway, I hope they're talking about Dorian in that statement. Vivienne and Dorian both strike me as exhibiting some amount of pompousness, and I like imagining how any arguments or competitions between them would play out.

Actually what intrigues me most about Dorian is the fact that he is a Tevinter Magister but apparently a sane reasonable one, who you can talk to and doesn't sound so creepy it makes your skin crawl. I had originally hoped that we might get to travel to Tevinter this time round but apparently not. So it's great that a citizen of Tevinter is coming to us and wants to set the record straight about mages from his country. I'm hoping that because magical research is not restricted there as it has been in the Circles, that he will be able to give us some new insights into magic. I'm pretty sure he is going to specialise in Necromancy, so presume he is going to convince me that Necromancy isn't all bad.
I'm anticipating that he may not see eye to eye with Vivienne and unless Solas turns out to be really open minded, there may a bit of a clash with him as well. Still, that is not likely to be a problem for me when we're out and about because I usually play a mage, so I don't need more than one in my companions. At present I'm not anticipating getting on that well with Vivienne myself, so it will be a toss up between Dorian and Solas who I take around. Definitely looking forward to down time back at the Keep though. Do you suppose he has any party tricks?

How would he 'set the record straight on mages from his country'? He hates how Tevinter is.

I doubt he'd try changing a place that was completely too far gone by his standards. I don't think he completely hates his homeland. Probably government/policies more than entire culture.

It's possible Vivienne and Dorian are going to get along ...
I'm not sure Dorian will feel too involved about the whole war between mages and templars , because well...Tevinter doesn't have this problem.
Besides they were both powerful mages .
I can imagine they will talk in a pretty friendly and polite manner , and just throw some snark at each others from time to time.

I never said he hates Tevinter. I said he hates how Tevinter is. Big difference. The former means you hate everything about the nation while the latter is you hate how it works.
