I'm surprised that Tevinter's view on sexuality is that close to what was found in classical societies. Having a nation based on Rome isn't anything new, but I don't remember seeing that influence extend to ideas about sex. If Dorian is an LI it would be cool if the romance was used to flesh out the nature of sexuality in the Imperium
On the other hand, I suppose that doing so could be rather difficult considering how important an individual's relative social status and power are in determining acceptable sexual roles.
... plus we have to assume that if he's a reformer, he might not be a big fan of "traditional" Tevinter culture.
(And DA:I does take place to a large extent in Orlais, which seems to be by far the most accepting nation in Thedas of sexual diversity.)
