Yeah, seriously!  While I enjoy playing m/m romances, this is one LI I'd want to romance with an Inquisitor based off of me (straight female).  For... science...

The history of another famous literary Dorian, that character's author, and the general vibe I'm getting from the description makes him an overwhelmingly likely m/m option, in my opinion. 
 
If they plan to do 2/2/2 (which is a big if, and one for which we have no evidence at this point) I'd put my money on him being exclusively m/m. 
 
If they don't, I'd eat my hat if Dorian is exclusively straight.

And i agree with you, in that case DHMG might be m/m only. I wonder who'll be the the straight only LI, since in the case Cullen isn't a Follower i doubt he'll be straight only.

Yep. The name itself is a reference to an ancient Greek ethnic group, but in the modern day the overwhelmingly common use of "Dorian" is in relation to the Wilde character.

 

Plus his last name Pavus ("peacock"), his description as "brazen and clever", and a sense that they're sort of going for a dandy vibe. Mahogany! etc.

 

Like I said earlier, his concept art looks like the spitting image of a real-life (and gay) French dandy.

For what it's worth, I think he'll end up being available for everybody.

 

But in the event that Bioware does make some companions exclusively straight/gay/bi, I'd put my money on Dorian being bi or gay over straight. Like, a truckload of money.

I could care less, even though I am a Cullen fanboy lol. I'd much rather the Grey Warden and IB. And I guarantee, that if Cullen does end up being bi, people are gonna complain about the "sexuality changing" BS. And therefore, I will smack them down, HARD.

I wasn't talking about being wrong, but what I'll believe it'll happen if he's a non-Follower LI.

They wont necessarily balance it all around either, though. It's possible that Cullen will be the hetero male romance and Scribe Girl will be the lesbian/bisexual female romance. They wont necessarily pair off the NPCs to be the same sexuality.

In all honesty, that was the first thing I thought of when they announced the 3/3/3 split. 

And the idea of him being an unconventional Tevinter mage, oh boy!

(I think a name change is always possible, but Dorian gets across a lot of cultural stuff about the character that might be lost if they switched it. It's also appropriately quasi-Tevinter-sounding, which doesn't hurt.)

i have absolutely no idea who this guy is. none. not even a name. except that he has flair for drama and awesome moustache. where do you guys get your intel? 

i get the rogue vibe when i look at the art (not the concept/survey one)
