Not that I'm agreeing with your opponent, here, but blood magic does sort of facilitate  murder, by virtue of its properties and power. If nothing else.

(Plus, if the other guy's using blood magic and you're not, you're definitely the one at a disadvantage. You are also probably going to die.)

Ok one survivor, who used small blood magic on himself to stream blood at templars, extremely forgettable and not even on par with all the other examples that are for power or to discover secrets. The ones that kill their victims.

The OGB was created through blood magic, Alain awakened the prisoner with blood magic, Jowan didn't kill anyone with his fire hose trick, Malcolm reinforced the seals on Corypheus' prison with blood magic... I could also go on.

You were the one that implied that Blood Magic ALWAYS equals murder.

Totally is. Isn't there a codex entry that calls it such? But it is allowed because it is useful and it is more important to keep the mages leashed.

Well, first of all, that's a pretty huge leap from "blood magic always involves murder." Second, the point about ritual is still wrong, unless you thought that Malcolm's seal-reinforcement could be cast as one quick jolt that invigorated all three seals at once, which is... possible but seems unlikely to me. Thirdly, why would you even use someone else as a power source if you can use yourself, if you don't want to kill anyone for it (and you can do that with Sacrifice anyway, but the actual spells we see in-game don't count for some reason)? Fourthly, blood magic doesn't have any inherent divination aspects to it, so I don't see what it could be used for that would be directly useful in "discovering secrets" anyway.

She also uses it to break open a force field, and to cleans a demonic presence.

 

And to find out for sure that someone was no longer possessed by a demon.

WHy not? You can list self inflicted, why not list rituals, mass experiments or done on a slave? I'll admit I was wrong that blood magic it self always kills because I admittedly forgot about the self afflictions, but I am not wrong that once blood magic is used for power or a ritual everyone goes home all healthy. A mage like Dorian who has it all, is not going to rebel against everything and thus lose all his rights just because the mages are jerks. He's doing it for a reason. The reason is because the abuse of blood magic that we have heard since DAO is true.

Avernus. Via blood magic he found secrets int he wardens blood, this also came at a big cost but he still found stuff no one thought was possible. This would not have been possible had he not used other people to experiment on.

In the comics it was mentioned there was a magister that exiled and resides in the Anderfels. Could this be Dorians master?

What if Eamon requested his assistance? And that is why he is in Radcliffe. Of course, something bad happened to his son and that made him crazy.

I don't think it's going to be as simple as that, I think Dorian does have his own plans that we'll find out in the game. Heck it's very possible he only wants to change Tevinter is so his plans and what he wants can succeeded. Do note this is a possibility, he could very well do what you said. He could turn out to trick all of us and used us for his aims under the guise of sympathy.
