Actually, what is the political state between Tevinter and other countries? Their Chantry and its teachings are banned, but it doesn't look like Imperial citizens are considered outlaws outside of its border. It seems they are allowed to walk freely, to run business. What about their mages - do they count as apostates and thus is to be brought to the Circle, or are they under diplomatic protection?

I don't think we've ever gotten confirmation on this? I have a hard time imagining most of Thedas allowing magisters to wander around freely for a visit or extended stay. I think it's different if you're with the Inquisition, though, like with the Wardens.

PS; I think the beardo warden and Cullen stubble camps are just over compensating with their hair wars. Everyone knows this thread rocks the most glorious facial hair.

We needn't be split on this issue.  Facial hair should be a force of unification, not a dividing one.

We all know that the GW annihilates in this contest. Granted, I feel DMHG could hold his own far longer than Cullen could though.

Beardy Warden wins in thickness but DMHG has major pluses in design and grooming.  Cullen gets a YOU TRIED star.

I imagined the "corruption" he's fighting, is the corruption that occurs in the fight for power, ruling power. Including bloodmagic, and wandering off into peoples dream to kill them for that end. I'd imagine he'd want a stronger Tevinter, rather then the faltering one, and that means a strong ruling power rather than bickering envious power hungry twits making it unstable.

I hate the waiting game...

He could be wholly against blood magic, but not really care about slavery. Or he might be against slavery, but still be biased against elves. There's the "mages are still superior" attitude, too, but one underlined by more compassionate rulership over lessers rather than total subjugation.

Or he could just be a good guy born into the wrong country, and repulsed by everything everyone seems to find repulsive about Tevinter. While that would make him easier to like, I imagine, I'm hoping they don't shy away from some of the more negative beliefs he can hold, at least in the beginning.

I would love it if the pulled off something like this. I don't want more of those evil, hips swaying magisters we've seen so far (in the games anyway) but I also wouldn't like it if they delivered some super anti blood magic and slavery guy, it would feel like the only point of his existance is to show that not every magister is evil.

The "corruption" that he's fighting in Tevinter seems like a broad term - does it include blood magic, slavery, the magocracy, the wealth disparity. the Imperial chantry, actual corruption, etc?

If he's tied into the Venatori plot, which I sorta suspect now, then his main disagreement could be the use of blood magic and the prevalence of creepy dragon or demon cultists in Tevinter. It's the area where his goals overlap the most with the Inquisitor's, after all. Since the Tevinter government seems to be holding together and it doesn't sound like Inquisition will feature a Tevinter invasion of Orlais, solving the Imperium's political system doesn't really seem like something the Inquisition would concern itself with.

But if the Venatori end up worshipping the Big Bad and spread themselves over Thedas in opposition to the Inquisition, Dorian's crusade against that specific manifestation of corruption could be a cause that we'd want to support.

If he is Orlesian instead of Tivinter, there is only one option; Jean Reno.

Jean Reno should voice every Orlesian.

Hey. I have a theory as to who DHMG is. I don't know if anyone has posted about this yet or not.

Okay, so it has been said that there will be one companion from Asunder in Inquisition right?
Everyone seems to think that it is Cole, but what if it's actually Rhys? In the books Rhys is described as:
"A handsome man of 40, warm brown eyes, a dark beard and hair with silver streaks in it."

From that description, that sounds like Rhys to me.

I was hoping for Dorian Pavus, but I will settle for Rhys.

(Just thoughts)

Certainly possible, yeah.

That would mean they scrapped Dorian and replaced him with Rhys. Only thing is that Rhys and Vivienne have fairly similar views on the mage/templar conflict.

Also, if this isn't Dorian, do any of the companions have a special plot link to the Venatori? A Tevinter magister seems like the obvious way to introduce some cultist bad guys, at least in the sense that the Inquisition is going after the same enemies as Dorian.

I thought that it was just that there is a character from Asunder in DA: I.  I don't think that they specified that it was a companion, though.  Unless, the made a new announcement.

I'm not far into Asunder yet but I actually kind of thought he was Rhys when I first saw him. I much prefer the Dorian we've come up with here though. A run away magister is much more interesting than another circle mage. We already have Vivienne for that.

Yup. While Vivienne and Rhys ideals are different, their backgrounds will be too similar. Expecially because the both grew up in an Orlesian Circle.

I don't think DHMG is Rhys. The original concept art and the character profile for Cole were in the same leaked survey. They probably weren't planning on both characters from the book in at once. It would only work well, imo, if they had time to scrap Cole and trade out for Rhys. They've both been there an equal amount of time, so I'd say it's more likely that DHMG is Dorian.
