I'm already a mage, so it'll be hard to take Viv with me.

I think that with how many times I'll change the party (I'm interested in all the characters), I'll probably bring him along with everyone, though likely less with Solas and Vivienne.
I'm interested in the relationship between Solas and Dorian. Not that it matters much, but it's the first time we have two male mages in the party.

So based on what we know about the flamboyant Dorian which companion is everyone planning to have accompany them when they take Dorian?

Personally I plan on: Dorian/Vivienne/not so well dressed companion just to see all the "filthy clothing" dialogue.

I also wonder if Dorian will talk about his and other companions' appearance only when Vivi is around and just be sarcastic and fun  when she's not. 

Can't say I see him as flamboyant, but Sera and IB. Though I might return to the idea of Solas after his reveal. I'm sure I'll just end up switching a lot. If I understood it right, there is only some minor changes in difficulty when it comes to normal. So I feel safe sticking to hard and bringing along whatever, no matter how imbalanced it may seem.

Agreed, nowhere has it been stated that he is flamboyant, campy or effeminate.

Witty, Charming and confident does not equate flamboyant.

Dorian and Cole are my favorite characters, so I'll probably take them everywhere and leave the last slot open for whoever is most relevant to the story at the time. Or maybe a third will grow on me and end up almost always edging out for the spot. Varric was always in my party in DA2, so he's a strong chance. Maybe Blackwall, since he seems like the warrior I can most easily stomach and having one would make gameplay easier. Solas might be interesting if some of the theories about him turn out right.

I saw it as sort of conciliatory, honestly (assuming that it was drawn by a woman, though I could be wrong).  Like, "You dudes were sad, now we ladies are sad.  We can all be sad together.  Bioware, you cards."

 

Of course I could be wrong and maybe it was meant to be mean and spiteful, but I'm being optimistic.

Well I looked up the definition and it means bold, brilliant, or being showy. I was just referring to his clothing. Also isn't he confident though?

It honestly smacked to me of the latter, so I didn't find it all that amusing.

Consider that it was the picture of Sera with the male tears that sent the Sera thread into a downward spiral that got it temp locked, so it's not great to repeat the situation. In this thread, straight women that wanted to romance Dorian have been handling the situation gracefully and most guys that are happy to probably have him responded mostly with sympathy to the other side. Why risk breaking the positive streak with something that's proven inflammatory in the past? 

 

But that's the only comment I'm going to make on the issue. I don't want to be part of escalating the situation.

I'm planning this too. Dorian and Vivienne will go everywhere with me, and Sera will have her DIY style very much critiqued. Possibly I should swap in Cole or Solas to share the load for her.

 

Since I'm already planning a mage, it might make the game more difficult, but hopefully the banters and comments will be well worth it.

Don't know what id 'too much' for you but it seems he might mock Sera/Solas along with Vivienne for their outfits.
