Agreed, nowhere has it been stated that he is flamboyant, campy or effeminate.

Witty, Charming and confident does not equate flamboyant.

I cannot support this statement enough.  I find it kind of annoying that people are calling him stereotypical, when they are the one projecting those stereotypes onto him.  We haven't seen much about him so far, but I would say that dashing, sarcastic, and intelligent aren't even close to the same as "flamboyant" when used in reference to gay stereotypes.

Qunari Mage Inquis, Dorian, Iron Bull, and Sera

The queer party! You know, assuming that Iron Bull is bi.

I love the idea of taking just an LBG party out on an adventure.  This will be the first game that we can do so with gay and lesbian characters.  I really cannot say enough how much I am loving how this game is shaping out in this regard.

I don't really care much about the implications of Vivienne and Dorian ribbing each other or others about their fashion sense. It only really bothers me when it gets to the level of vitriol that Fenris/Anders/Merrill had in DA2. When it gets genuinely nasty, I start viewing the characters a little more negatively. Sera is also on the line with this, from what we've heard. When it's like Isabela/Aveline or Morrigan/Alistair, I don't really care.

Honestly, what we've heard about Vivienne most recently actually makes her seem slightly more appealing to me, but we'll have to see what her "real agenda" is.

FYI, if Dorian engages in too much mockery of anyone else, I hereby rescind everything good I said about him earlier.

I think it depends how it happens .I know sometimes I troll my friends and mock them , and they do it too...but it's just for fun , and no harm done.

The thing that drives me mad , it's people who act like hyenas ...every time I've found myself in some group , there's always the "cool kids" group , even when you're in a group of people who are 40's or 50's.

They usualy band together , go in some corner and start criticizing everyone .

This drives me absolutely batshit crazy.

I call them hyenas because they always go for the weaker preys.Urgh.

If Dorian and Vivienne are like this , I'm just going to keep them apart.(some "hyenas" can be somewhat decent when they are all alone...)

I hate mockery. I especially hate entitled rich people mockery.

I feel Dorian and Vivienne should be careful with their mockery if it turns nasty, lest I put them in the most hideous colour combinations I can.

Well, it seems like there's a lot of brattiness in the Inquisition group. One might think it's surprising from a group quoted as "the best of the best" but I guess it's really not when you think about it. It's a bunch of people that are used to being the big fish in their respective pool. Maybe some of them will get knocked back a bit and become more humbled as time goes on.

I think that they are going to be frenemies, not enemies.  The fact that Gaider also said that they would drop their barbs at each other and combine forces against a third party, makes me think that they aren't going to serious.

I usually don't have a "default" party (I like to bring who I think would make the most sense for the story of each quest), I could easily see Dorian, Vivienne, and Varric being my go to side-quest party.  The level of smart dialogue and barbs will be glorious.

I have an alternative if Team Sass winds up going too far. A new fashion to be introduced to all human mages: I call it Andrastian Saarebas, bitches.

I wish that if you did that, they'd make some snippy comment about it in their banter.

I can already see Vivienne not allowing you to put her in any armor that looks bad on her.

Ouch, Xil. A tad harsh, no?

I don't think the brattiness will be as severe as perhaps people are assuming from the writers' comments, especially since banter has traditionally been more snarky and funny than the rest of the companion interactions.

At the end of the day everyone is a professional, and the overwhelming priority of the Inquisition is to stop the hordes of demons pouring from the sky - that's going to be the focus for the team, surely.

I would DIE if the team somehow programmed snippy comments if you have the Pinkuisition.

To be honest, though, Vivienne could make a potato sack look gorgeous.

That's why Scribbles hasn't been revealed, she's obviously the world fashion adviser.

Inquisitor: Well, Scribbles, what are our chances against Fort X?

Scribbles: Well, it seems our army numbers are strong, as is our spy force.

But from what I've heard the orlesians do not find the Inquisition fashionable enough to gain respect.

Finally! This is what I've been waiting for! A fully gay companion that isn't a bisexual who has only had meaningful relationships with women in his past and pretty much states that his job is the main factor that makes him sleep with men and constantly has to check with a male character whether or not they're cool with him liking men, a clearly straight character that has his sexuality changed for the sake of diversity and only if you play as a male character, otherwise he's still pretty much a straight character, or a character that is claimed to be a bisexual, yet only canonically engages in consensual sex with a female as long as a male character doesn't hit on him! Finally, we have a real gay character that isn't hidden away or has their sexuality downplayed and I am excited as all hell for this!

Kaidan actually has romance lines for a male Shepard in ME1. Unfortunately, it's been cut. Either way, besides how mShep answered Kaidan in his "coming out" scene on the Citadel, I'm pretty (freaking) satisfied with the way it's presented in ME3.

I hope so...but then I remember Anders and Fenris suddenly BFF forever when talking about Merrill.

Or Morrigan and Leliana fighting for the wardens affection , they were vicious towards each others in banters.

Amen! Kaidan's romance as m/m in ME3 was absolutely perfect.

My people? May have had fashion sense pleasing to you once. Then yours obliterated our civilization and enslaved all of the survivors. And when we finally got out of that, Hornhead's people over here did the same damned thing. And now you damned gilded ponces want to talk fashion? You'll be lucky if I only shove your dubious facial hair down your ****** throat, shemlen.

That's probably going to be a little more insulting to Vivienne, I have to say.

Well to be fair , I agree with Elite Pinecone , chances are Vivienne and Dorian being "meanies" will be more tongue in cheeks than serious.

Oh yeah, that's the way it struck me too. Now I have to justify having three mages in the party...damn.
