I won't mind him talking about his sexuality as much as he wants, as long as he only rejects female quizzys who try to flirt with him. Like, my female quizzy will be romancing Sera. I want to be Dorians friend on that playthrough but I don't want him saying he isn't interested in me when I haven't even shown an interest in him, you know? (but if I had accidentally chosen a flirt, then its fine. Reject away!) It's something I really hate about real life (and as such I don't like being nice to people because they sometimes take it the wrong way and assume you have 'motives'). I have faith in BioWare making him a good character, it's just that 1 thing (if it happened) would ruin him a bit for me, because I play games to have fun and escape from people

 

So apart from that, he can be as gay as he wants and as open about it as he wants. He can join my female quizzy, Sera and Bull in a side quest covering Orlais in rainbow flags and sparkles for all I care, as long as he is a good character

Someone posted this on tumblr with the caption "/v/ fixed Dorian's mustache". Uh-huh... I can see that. I think they "fixed" a few other things as well.

 

Honestly these forums give me a headache sometimes but /v/ makes me want to claw my eyes out... they just seem to be so full of such passionate hate for just about everything and everyone, how could anybody find such discussion enjoyable? Is this always the case or are they just really bad about anything EA/Bioware?

That assumes Gaider cared how we felt.  That assumes too much!  

 

Oh, he cares, I'm sure! He wants to makes us feel and care for his character and the stories he writes.

 

However, I believe he cares less about 100 forum-puppies crying out "I wanna romance him!" as soon as they see the first spoiler picture of a character, before they even know anything about him. Because that kinda defeats the point of writing a story in the first place.

I am absolutely hyped by Dorian, from what the interview says. Starting from sarcasm and going from there is an excellent way to build a character. His story and his sexuality feels "organic" (I can't say realistic here anymore). Him being a "forbidden" necromancer and having a pragmatic view on magic makes me like him already.

 

I think I will put him together with Vivienne in my party. 2 mage parties + warrior + rogue work best for me, and the clash of personalities is just added bonus. In any argument, I will take Dorian's side, telling Vivienne how stupid her circle, her political imposturing, her signs of vanity and stations are. And then I'm gonna rivalmance her, have great, explosive (literally!) hate-sex where sparks will fly. Slap-kiss-slap are the best romances after all.

They're very persistent. I think what's changed is that the fans and the writers don't care anymore.

DORIAN: As long as you are the one to control them, eh, First Enchanter?

VIVIENNE: And you know all about controlling others, don't you, my dear Magister?

DORIAN: Perhaps we should get the Bull to sew your mouth shut.

VIVIENNE: Only a fool challenges me... fool!

*The Inquisitor bursts into the room to find... Vivienne and Dorian sat opposite each other in big, comfy armchairs, drinking wine and eating cheese, clearly very relaxed*

INQUISITOR: What's... I heard...

VIVIENNE: We have quite recovered from the last debacle, I think, my dear.

INQUISITOR: I thought...

VIVIENNE: We all need to blow off steam once in a while, do we not? I always find these sessions with the devilish Magister so refreshing.

DORIAN: Indeed. This way we can save the real vitriol for our foes, no?

Do you mean anti gay or people against having every companion being bisexual/playersexual?  That is what I pretty much saw in DA2's forums from what I recall.  I was part of that group and it wasn't about being against gay people or bisexual people, it was just about having every companion being playersexual, was a bit jarring.
