I can understand thinking of Saarebas is a bit ...well uncomfortable.

But the Iron Bull broke down because he was hunting people for the Qun , so I think he's not a bad guy.

I think the Iron Bull probably a big softie , way bigger softie than Sten. And the Qun broke him.

But he's like Dorian , they both come from some shady culture but it seems they are still attached to it.

If Dorian would bring the Iron Bull to Tevinter , The Iron Bull would probably be turned into a slave.

They hate Qunari over there , and if they don't kill them , they enslave them.

What we know is that Dorian is an exile from his country by choice, while he attempts to change it. Iron Bull is still working as a spy for his. So, until we know that Dorian supports slavery, it's still Iron Bull that I'm concerned about. We know he's still working to support his culture, reservations or not. If he leaves, though, my opinion will become more favorable.

In my experience, people can strongly believe/support a religion (or school of thought) without necessarily agreeing with every single part of it. Maybe the Iron Bull doesn't agree with the whole sewing people's mouth shut when they didn't even choose to have magic.

To me, that's not enough. If he's working as an active spy for the Qun, then he's providing them with the means to stay in power and continue to do these things. He's part of the problem.

I just thought of the best fan art ever. How does a Where's Waldo fan art of all the characters in DAI sound? I know it sounds a little childish, but it sounds like fun.

Oh, that brings back memories of the Hunt With Hooroo books from my kidlet days! That would be some mighty fun fanart if anyone had the patience to pull something like that off.

We don't know everything about the Bull. We know that he is "incapable of overcoming his past", we know that the only things he is afraid of are demons... Maybe he had past encounters with magic that makes him hesitant toward becoming a mage-libertarian. Maybe he sees the reason why the Qun treats mages the way it does, even if he doesn't necessarily agree with it... As I said, we really don't know. I guess we'll find out when the game finally ships.

he'd be easy, you just don't draw himXD that way you spend hours looking and he only appears when you're most frustrated and distressed about not finding him, on the next page so when you give up, there he is all on his only lonesome.

I don't believe it's about Iron Bull in particular so much as how it's uncomfortable to pair a mage with someone that supports a religion and culture where they're bound, enslaved and mutilated. It's a completely valid way to feel about the ship.

As much as I like the ship, I can see where Dirgegun is coming from.   :(

This is exactly it. Being a part of the Qun isn't like being a part of a religion in real life. They're incredibly militant and their primary goal is to expand and convert or kill all others. You can't just be a part of the Qunari military machine without being a threat to everyone that doesn't either want to convert or lose their head. In real life we mostly view religion as something personal that doesn't effect others, and that's usually true in our modern world, but it's not true in Thedas, where religion and military are often inseparable.

A possible comparison would be... an uncomfortable one to mention. Particular groups come to mind when thinking about how the Qun treat mages. It is an uncomfortable ship when you set aside the humour surrounding 'Team YOLO' and think about the details, though.

I'm not making excuses about the ship per se, just stating an opinion about Iron Bull.

And I suppose it all comes down to our personal experiences. Where I live, it would be impossible to befriend or even simply tolerate anyone if I were to scrutinize about how people are supporting atrocious acts of atrociousness (sorry, I have to censor it) simply by believing in a religion or living their lives according to the law as much as they possibly can, or simply by being neutral.

(And it isn't just religion that we can make a comparison to. We could for example refer to the much-beloved "government" agents from movies and tv series, too.)

But we're getting uncomfortably close to real life politics, so maybe we should talk about something else.

I wonder what kinds of dialogues there will be with dorian? I am really starting think that I might put him and vivienne into the same group and just let them go wild, i can just see it being hilarious (already talked about) but it's still interesting to think if they'll have serious conversations.

I worry that a decent chunk of Dorian's dialog with Vivienne will be fairly shallow, if amusing, so I'm actually a bit more interested in seeing how he interacts with Solas. I wonder if he has more to say than just how goofy Solas's PJs are and that he should maybe grow some hair. But I think (hope) that a lot of both Vivienne and Dorian's dialogue isn't as fashion-centric as a lot of people are thinking.

We have to remember that IB doesn't really live by the Qun anymore. He still feels part of it and he cares about his people but he has doubts because he enjoys a life outside of the Qun. We don't really know how he feels about mages because he has always been told how to feel about them.

Most of the time , I think they will troll each others.

But Vivienne is an "ice queen" who probably went through a lot of grief to get her position. She tried to work within the system.

I think Dorian is more like a wild fire , F*** the System , I'm going on a solo crusade which has little chance to suceed.

I think (or hope) we'll have some good stuff from time to time.

About Solas and Dorian...well no idea.

I hope the whole Scotch Bonnet Candy means Solas will burn Vivienne and Dorian if they try to pick on him.

Actually, what david said about Dorian and Viv, paired with thos team tweets made me wonder about the banter system.

"I think I enjoy his relationship with Vivienne the most. They're complete opposites and will tear into each other viciously—or, at least, that's what it looks like to outsiders."

"Really, they find it good fun, and they'll go from arguing to banding together in order to criticize someone else in a cold second—like the Statler and Waldorf of Thedas. I love that."

So the team tweets made it seem like Viv and Dorian would be bitchy about Solas's/Sera's clothes but if you consider Davids comments it seems like the banter may be more effected by the whole team in DAI. If they have someone to make fun of they will but if not they might be at each others throats.

The Qun is a weird thing, and I highly doubt being raised under it is going to do wonders about your sense of morality.

I don't think fashion is the only thing they will talk about. There's the whole Circle vs. no-Circle argument that might probably come up, Tevinter vs. Orlais political debates, Orlesian Chantry vs. Imperial Chantry, etc...

Personally, however, I'm curious to see how he might interact with Cole, Cassandra and Blackwall (the third one only because of speculation). Solas might be interesting too, but I need to know more about the elven mage first before I can say that for sure.

I think Dorian's banter with Cole could be interesting, since it's stated that Dorian's magic focuses on spirits.

Yep, that's pretty much why I'm interested to see how that plays out. (And also because I'm curious to see how each of the party members would react to Cole. Am not enthusiastic about Cole's interactions with Sera or Vivienne though. It must be nasty, from what we've heard :()
