When is she mad at him? She's mad at Alexius but I don't see where she gets mad at Dorian.
In this write-up of the full demo:
"Speaking of apostate mages, they’d been tearing **** up all over, and Redcliffe is basically a total clusterfuck. This is partially this guy, Alexius’s fault. He was holed up in the keep. The demo guy switched Dorian into the party, since he wanted to get special dialogue between Dorian and his former master, Alexius. So they got into the castle and found Leliana tied up and being tortured, though when the inquisitor shows up, she grabs her torturer around the neck with her legs and snaps it. According to the producer, they had made a decision earlier on in the playthrough to send Leliana in to spy or something, and she’d gone dark (presumably because she was caught), so this was kind of an extraction mission, as well as a mission to take out this nut, Alexius.
Leliana seemed (understandably) super bitter and hardened in this demo, and she really did not seem to get along well with Dorian. Dorian’s whole deal is that he’s a Tevinter Imperium mage and he wants to restore the honor of his homeland. So he seems like a noble, maybe a bit idealistic dude. So anyway, he started asking Leliana questions about what had happened to the castle (which is sitting basically in a Fade rift), and she’s just like stop talking. Dorian asked why, and she said because he was just trying to fill the silence. Basically, Leliana told him to shut the **** up."
I think there's an issue of semantics, too.
People have been referring to Zevran, Fenris and Anders as "the gay romances" for years even though those characters aren't gay.
If David wanted to make the point that Dorian wasn't attracted to women, using a word like "fully" is a way to distinguish him from the other m/m romances who were actually bisexual, or ambiguous. There might've been better ways to phrase it, but I haven't seen anyone misunderstand that Dorian is actually gay, and not just someone of unstated sexuality who is available to male characters.
I *definitely* think the reaction has been a little silly, and it's not the first time people have leaped on something he's said and used it as a reason to throw around various ~phobias.
I just don't see why any adverb was needed at all. "The first gay character I've written" would have sufficed, since that's exactly what he is. No reason to throw in extra words.
It doesn't really bother me, but it was a strange enough way to word it that it made me pause. Not that I think there's any reason to throw a hissy over it.
I'm very pleased that we'll be getting Dorian and Sera at any rate.

I was wondering ; when they fight the mages in Redcliffe castle ...is it Dorian screaming "Your death will be my apology!"?

This pleases me. A voice can really make or break a character. It's a little hard for me to pick out what he's saying, but the voice sounds deep? Deep is good. I like deep.
Ditto. I felt kinda bad for him. He's got to be so excited about writing Dorian and on Friday, some people were being extremely rude to him.Ok, I'm pretty sure the "fully gay" thing was just an offhand reply he didn't really think about. Time to move on with our lives..
Nah, that was Alexius screaming that.I was wondering ; when they fight the mages in Redcliffe castle ...is it Dorian screaming "Your death will be my apology!"?
It sounds like maybe the Leliana path does not go over well against Alexius. Maybe I'll see what Cullen has to say about it when I get there. lol

That sounds... plausible.
If quite dark.

If it was possible I'd send Vivienne to deal with that kind of thing.
I was going to use spy and such , but ...well if they get caught and I have to rescue them...

I think it is him, hard to be sure. Could be one of his battle taunts.

I'll never understand how some people can get bothered by such meaningless stuff.
It was most definitely Alexius, not Dorian. That sounds... plausible.

I'm sure I'm not the only one insanely attracted to his choice of attire...
He gets more handsome each time I see him. Must be "hype goggles" ![]()
Yay romance confirmation! ![]()
It was pretty obvious but it's nice to have him confirmed. Interesting how they chose to confirm the gayn romances first, I know Cullen and Cass were confirmed first but we still don't know their orientation. I wonder if Dorian will be race gated? I hope not tbh and it doesn't seem like he would need to be tbh.
Not gonna lie, those tight white pants are pretty hot. Drool worthy!I'm sure I'm not the only one insanely attracted to his choice of attire...

I swear he's written gay characters before though. Wasn't there a male couple in The Calling?

leliana is a total badass!
Ok, I'm just curious. Was race-gating confirmed as an actual thing or was it made up to give us anxiety??
Technically not confirmed, just heavily hinted at by Gaider and Schumacher.Ok, I'm just curious. Was race-gating confirmed as an actual thing or was it made up to give us anxiety??
