There will be 6+ options. They said it was the most romance options in a DA game and DA2 had 5, so it has to be 6 or more.

Exactly, how many different romance options will there be? I heard there will be six, so far four have been confirmed.

Will there only be six options or more?

 

Since it's been put forward by the devs in several places that everyone will get options, so since we have straight, gay, and bisexual LI's, it's assumed that we will have at least 6 (2/2/2).  However, the news of race-gating makes it seem likely there will be at least 7 because if they race-gated any of the 6, some players would get only one option.  While he's said that some combinations will have less options, Gaider has also said that it's important for all players to get options. 

 

So, we know nothing about the total number at this point.

Even though it was obvious, I'm super glad they confirmed the romance!   Dorian   

I thought once this was confirmed I'd be able to relax more and the wait for the game would be a little more bearable, but so far that hasn't kicked in.

I'd be wary of talking numbers though, Mike said he regretted using that comparison when people got over-excited and started making assumptions from it.

 

It's a nice marketing line, but I wouldn't necessarily take it that literally.

When you take a character that -is- a PoC and you draw them as white, you're sort of saying 'don't care about you unless you're white'.

Like by doing so you are essentially saying 'this character's one flaw is that they're not white' and that's not cool.

But I'm not saying I ever was cool with him being made aryan, I'm just curious. Mostly because his voice actor is Indian and if he is conceptualized as Indian, I have an Indian friend that would be SUPER excited to hear about him.

I always thought he seemed more Middle-Eastern/Mediterranean honestly. Similar to Isabela.

I'm not going to lie.  I thought Dorian was a tan white guy until I read those tweets.  I also assumed he was Mediterranean inspired, like Greek or Italian.  I guess he's meant to be a PoC.

I don't think that Mort mean that he wouldn't be cool with Dorian being conceptualized as white; just that he's not cool with people taking a swarthy guy and turning him into a pale, blond haired, blue eyed guy in fan art.  Although, I might be mistaken.

Nobody said it wouldn't be cool if he was white, they said it isn't call to make him white because he isn't white. 

 

White pride is frowned upon because there is no reason for it, white people as a group are accepted and not stigmatized against. The whole point of pride concepts within minorities is to promote acceptance of yourself as part of a minority despite being discriminated against in society. White people (as a group) have no need for that so it just comes off as racist.

When I played DA2, I thought Isabela was white/southern European. I didn't know she wasn't until I joined the forums. So, uhhh...

Do white people suffer much discrimination around the world though? I seem to remember hearing of some countries that do have that but I don't think it is usually the case even when they are the minority.

I only answered because I have been asked questions like that before and they were serious. Like people saying "why no straight pride"?

More than you'd think. There are some places in even white-dominated countries where white people who live there get all the symptoms of discrimination because they are white. But let's drop this subject before it gets bad.
