I still chuckle whenever I think of that.

Anyone who accidentally has sex with Zevran is either skipping through the dialogue - which is a bad idea in Dragon Age if you haven't heard a particular conversation before, for all sorts of reasons - or they are very sheltered and, like, nine years old. In which case, they should not be playing the game at all. Zevran is many things, but subtle is not one of them.

Yeah, I reckon the said poster was a kid. Lol.

"All I wanted was Anders' manifesto!"

To be fair, he was putting that manifesto everywhere.

I didn't actually know that, cool! Still, it doesn't help those that don't want to click the big gold heart at all.

Alas. But if you flirt with him there, he'll be happy for a few seconds, then tell you to leave because he'll break your heart. But you still get friendship points, so it works out.

He only says that to a female PC, iirc. Anders is much more dramatic with Lady Hawke for some reason.

Man, take one day away from the forums for Canada Day.... let's see, what have I missed out on?

I'm 22, don't overly care about body hair one way or the other and I like horror movies and long hikes (edit: just realised that is a potentially creepy thing to mention together, probably why my incredibly brief foray into actual online dating didn't work)

If Dorian was accepting of the slave situation I wouldn't necessarily dislike his character depending on his 'acceptance'. In terms of growing surrounded by slavery with no one batting an eye and looking at it as the norm, I could understand that at the very least, though be very disappointed if we (or just his time outside of Tevinter) couldn't "open his eyes" to the corruption of it all. Beyond that though (doesn't see slaves as people, content with abuse/violation/blood magic sacrifice), that would probably be a deal breaker for having him as a companion. In saying that, I really don't see him being pro-slavery in any way based on what we've heard.

Currently I plan on romancing Dorian as an elven mage inquisitor, if possible.

Both of those GoT characters are indeed, hot.

While Cortez did absolutely nothing for me in any way, shape or form, I did enjoy that even as an m/m interest, as a man you could develop the relationship between the two of you and even go so far as to dance with him in a nightclub whilst it still being abundantly clear that it was purely platonic. I don't know if that was the case if you explicitly mentioned you were interested in men though, as I think I was always with Kaidan already which he always respected. Even though I plan on romancing the crap out of Dorian, I hope this is the case for him as well, since gay men are actually capable of platonic relationships with other men. Even though it was probably done to avoid the ire of bigots as EP said, it was still better than "Oh hey Jack! Man, sounds like you've had a rough go of it; I'm here for you if you need it. What's that, you want to have sex? I'm good, I just care for you as a friend. Hey, why are you angry at me and only telling me to f*** off?". Having said that, if Dorian is the flirtatious type (which he certainly could be from what we know so far), he should flirt regardless of whether you've expressed an interest or not, because that's his character. I'm a huge offender when it comes to platonic flirting, it means nothing more than a personality quirk.

Did I forget anything?

I saw that on tumblr the other day. My poor blushing ears.

I can kind of see him grooming his nethers to that extent though. Him and Viv.

I'm hoping Dorian doesn't support slavery, personally. I'll have a more difficult time liking him whole-heartedly (much like Morrigan and Fenris) if that's the case. At the very least, it would be nice to persuade him that slavery is one of the reasons Tevinter should be reviled at the moment, and if he really wants to redeem it, that's something that should go.

I think I must have messed up the path with Cortez, because I don't remember having an "out" with him other than saying I liked chicks. Maybe you have to already be with Kaidan and I talked to the wrong guy first. Oops.

It's possible there wasn't. As I said, I never did it as somebody interested in men without already being with Kaidan. And if that was the case, I hope it isn't with Dorian. If you so wish, you should be able to be "Get out! I like men too... so what was it like growing up in Tevinter?".

Pack. Teehee.

GASP.  I want need this to be a thing that happens in the game!

Anders' manifestos popping up in bookshelves and bushes and stuff. Oooo~ the ghost of Anndeerssss~ Dorian brings it up in conversation in party, "Hey, have you read this manifesto? It's by a mage by the name of And-"

Varric: " -Maker's breath, will that damned thing follow me around for the rest of my life?"

He only says that to a female PC, iirc. Anders is much more dramatic with Lady Hawke for some reason.

I seriously cannot ever go through with the Anders romance. It's so... corny... I always start giggling when he gets all dramatic or in the love scene. Like, you either can say to him afterwards, "I WANT YOU HERE. RIGHT BY MY SIDE. " In the absolute most woobiest voice, or ask him if he wants a sandwich... IDEK.

I feel awful but I cannot stop giggling at this. I didn't even notice.

Now that you mention it, you do have to pick a rather flirty line at one point if your Shepard is gay ("I'm hurt! Why aren't you looking over here?"), since the other option implies he likes women. It doesn't activate the romance though, and in fact you get it regardless of whether you are romancing Kaidan or not.

Anders' romance is so ridiculous at times that I'm quite convinced Varric is inventing most of it.

I was probably being over cautious, because I didn't want to actually lock in the romance with him, so I probably just skipped it. I only played ME3 once. Maybe I'll give it a shot again sometime. I never did get around to getting the Citadel DLC that everyone seems to like.

This is a theme I thought suited Dorian.  Ladies and gents, may I present to you:  Two hot guys playing AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" on cello.  :D

I've never thought of that. Well, now I will just pretend that's why it is how it is. Varric really did not like Anders, anyway, so I can see him changing the story to make him sound more dramatic than he already was. I liked Anders as a character (even if I don't ever not kill him in my playthroughs... but that's just a show of good writing) but as a romance, he was pure fodder. I love Hepler (she wrote Deep Roads plot-line so she's a genius) so I don't hold this against her beautiful self. Lol.

I hope to the MAKER that we don't get Dorian speaking goose-tripe in a woobie tone like,
"My heart beats only for you, Inquisitor!"
[proceeds to swoon over him and rub his cheek against Inquisitor's manly chest hair]
"YOU WILL ALWAYS CATCH ME WHEN I FALL, WONT YOU?"
[does silly little lovey-dovey giggle that breaks immersion]

I get enough of that from my crappy regency romance novels, thank you.

Citadel DLC was just fanservice and I hated it. It was filled to the brim with silliness and it ruined the tone of the game, imo. A few cute jokes here and there, but an entire mission? That, and none of the romance scenes were good. They were all way too corny for my liking and filled with sickly sweetness that was better suited to an ABC family movie. Shepard became the butt of all jokes and became this absolute wanker who struts down a red carpet and decides to buy a sweet apartment the night before a massive battle that will decide the fate of the entire universe. Not to mention whenever FemShep put her flirt voice on, it sounded really sleazy. Seriously, HATED it.

Not to mention Thane's entire... everything in ME3 was excruciating. Let's not even mention Jacob, wtf.

OKAY SORRY ENOUGH FROM ME. SO OT.

DAI will not have this. I refuse to believe it. DA2's DLCs were great. They had their cute in-jokes but the DLCs remained entirely relevant and furthered the lore and/or story with Hawke.

EDIT: Kaiden's romance cutscene was okay, actually...

I actually don't mind a little sappiness, honestly. The reason I always picked Anders over Fenris was largely because he had a softer, more emotionally available personality. I don't really see Dorian as being much like either of them, though. They were a couple of hot messes. lol
