I'll be really sad if Necromancy focuses heavily on summons. If I were a mage or wizard or whatever in real life, summoning would only be slightly more interesting than classical representations of healing magic to me.

INQUISITOR: Well, I'll let you raise my dead.
DORIAN: ....
INQUISITOR: That was terrible. I'm so sorry.
DORIAN: You've certainly killed the mood.
INQUISITOR: Well, perhaps I can try to bring that back to life?
DORIAN: [SIGH]
HA. I normally find the fan written dialogue to be a bit cringeworthy, but this one? I like!

Same. So far, I'm more interested in Rift mage than Necromancy. As far as it goes, you could take Necromancy in many different directions. Manipulation of life energies, for example. THAT I would be heavily interested in. Turning idea of controlling the dead on it's head and perhaps being able to control the living in certain ways.

Yeah he did. It's to fill in for the blood magic spec without all that pesky world reaction. From what I understand, necromancy is distasteful, but not forbidden.Didn't Cameron Lee or someone say that Necromancy would fit an evil character "well" or something? If true, that makes me think it will involve some health siphoning / dark arts things beyond simply raising the dead.
As I've said before, I'd love if Dorian used necromancy in a 'positive' way, such as siphoning health from enemies to team mates, channel enemies mana/stamina, disrupt enemy necromancers, nullify the undead, create draining vortexes etc.

Why would you bring up that twitter stuff, Elu? Being a self-hating masochist, I of course had to see for myself and I don't even have a twitter. People (including at least one clearly from this forum) are revolting. Being purposefully obtuse is one of my least favourite qualities in a human being.
If Dorian is a necromancer (which it definitely looks like at this point), I hope it involves more than reanimating corpses as well, to entice me to place any points in it. Raising the dead is a big no-no for me.
I am generally not a fan of fan-banters, but even more so when someone tries to make a sex-based necromancy joke and completely misses the opportunity to involve rigor mortis. Shame on you!

What's rigor mortis...?
Edit: Nevermind. Googled it. Remind me never to do that again... *shudders*

I'm not fond of raising the dead.Mostly it's about hygiene.
Also well it's disrespectful when you think about the people who cared for those dead.
I have less trouble with Alexius raising his own son , I mean if he didn't kill him first (or kill other people to do it), I think the dude may have trouble coping with the death of his son. It's disturbing but I can have some empathy for his distress.
I wouldn't mind too much if Dorian raise the dead on the battlefield depending on the situation.
If the party get ambushed by a bunch of bloodthirty bandit , well I don't mind sending their own dead after them.
It really depends on the situation. But I wouldn't play a necromancer.

I think I found what Dorian would look like in Venatori armor.

I'm pretty sure necromancy in this context means summoning spirits and make then possess corpses, rather than actual necromancy -as in Leandra.
There was a spell for that in Origins... I think? In the spirit tree?
And that's fine, because while it's still reprehensible, it's not like "omg he's raising the dead let's start an Exalted March on the mustache guy".

Sorry. I check Gaider's twitter every now and then, and it just really pissed me off today.

Male Human mage. I love the idea of romancing Dorian as a mage.

I'm thinking elf or Qunari, but I won't know till I see the character creator.

I played Dalish as my first "in" into Origins, because I felt something so much like the community I grew up in (on a Rez in the U.S.). Ended up not being my favorite Origin, and not even my "canon." I'm not like pro-Dalish, it's just kind of interesting to play something that echoes a lot of things I grew up with...
Anywho. I kind of feel like doing that again. Male Dalish but Mage this time. I'm hoping for a kind of fireworks, hate, then love to hate, then just love thing with Dorian. Maybe. We'll see. My moods change like the wind.

I didn't like the Dalish origin much myself, City Elf strikes me as more badass personally.

I liked the story of the City Elf 100x better too. I dunno. It just got me into the world of Dragon Age so much more to kind of have something familiar. I'm also liking Qunari.... tough decisions.

While it wasn't intended as euphemism, I would use "Start an Exalted March" as one.

Elf! I love elf. ELF! Depending on who I put in my party and their type. I wanna be mage. But if I like Solas as much as I think I do, I cannot be mage. So I guess warrior. Cant have a three mage party.

I'm probably going to romance him with a rogue.
I don't really like playing male mages .
Besides I want a playthrough where I can bring Vivienne and Dorian along , just to have my Dalish rolling his eyes at them.
I will troll them , I will troll them hard.
