I looked in on the 'I hate Dorian Facial Hair' thread and regretted it immediately.

Excuse me it was actually about Dorain's facial hair.
It seems like most people like the 'stache.
I have to say, I'm sort of indifferent to it now after many weeks of thinking "Oh, couldn't they have gone with the whole Dreamworks Sinbad's style of facial hair?"
But at the same time, Dorian's face looks boring without it. He'll still be the LI my first player-character would romance, on my personal, canonical playthrough.
And I'm drawing fanart... when I should be working on my honour's project. Whups!

I can't believe that his facial hair is getting so much attention. Granted, it's being put forward by the same guy in multiple threads, but there are people who have really strong opinions on both sides of the issue. I'm glad that they added in a guy with non-traditional facial hair. Most of the male love interests are either clean shaven, stubbley, or have goatees (yuck). I don't think we've ever had one with a full beard and Dorian is the first with a fancy moustache. Yay for facial hair diversity.

I find it funny that so many people were complaining how "all male love interest had been these boyish, slim, shaved, young men". Now we got some manly stuff with a classy moustache and people are still complaining. Actually more than ever. Well, you can't please everyone, I guess.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't really understand how Dorian's appearance is stereotypical? Most gay men that I have seen in media, were clean shaved boys. Then again, feel free correct me. I haven't seen too many movies after all.
And his sense of fashion? I know a bunch of boys who have a strong sense of fashion and who are not gay. It's just different for every individual. Your sexual orientation doesn't have to be the reason for your fashion-sense.
His moustache gives me kind of an "I am a classy gentleman and - frankly speaking - I don't give a damn about your opinion about me haha"-vibe. I like that. A lot.

I can't believe people are upset by his moustache, I mean really? It's a moustache -- a beautiful, sexy, glorious moustache -- but still a moustache. We are so damn shallow, but I guess until we have more to discuss people are just picking a part companion's appearances.

The only think I dislike about the stache is that it looks a little fake but as I said before I have a feeling it will look better in game. There's always a chance the hair textures will be more improved and even if they aren't it looked fine in the demo.

He wants people to talk about it! That's why he has it. It's a bold choice. Some people (me) will hate it. It's like Vivienne's horns. I respect her. I respect those horns. I also think they are kind of ridiculous, like a handlebar mustache.
People are talking about characters' appearances because we have a better handle on them than their personalities. We haven't really seen much of the 'stache in action, but we still have a better idea of how it looks and works than we do of his (or any other new character's) personality.

In action? Oh god. Now I am imagining magic fireballs flying out of his moustache and then the stache flying from his face and acting like a boomerang, laying waste to all of Thedas in the process.

That is a beautiful image, I need fanart ASAP. Better yet - a GIF. And when the boomerstache returns to him he needs to curl the ends back into place with a charming grin.

He's a moustche mage the most powerful of all the mage subgroups.

I think Dorian's mustache is pure genius from a design point. It makes him instantly memorable and recognizable; I've showed him to a bunch of friends already and they were all drawn to his design because of his facial hair. I love it and I'm glad the design team made such a bold choice.

I hope at the party in the Winter Palace, he'll wear a top hat and monocle! Joking aside, I really don't get the hubbub (positive or negative) surrounding his facial hair; it's just hair!

If he was more barrel chested, he'd be an early 1900's strongman.

Now, if we don't have a custom 'stache twitl animation for him? That warrants angry mobs. :-》

But I'll agree with another poster that said his mustache looks fake. For me, that close of of him looks like somebody drew a mustache on his face. Kinda like what some people do to others picture.
Otherwise, I'm sure it'll look better as there's more footage/pics.

It's not like there are angry mobs breaking down BW doors about it. Outside of here most of it is Freddie Mercury comments and comments on the stache and it being cool. Not many complaints. In saying that, there aren't many who hate it on here, either.

For the record, anytime I have compared Dorian to Freddy Mercury, it's been a compliment meant from the bottom of my heart. I grew up listening to Queen and cried my 11 year old eyes out when he died.

I actually like clean shaven better most of the time. Facial hair, in general, is not my thing. I hate beards. I think Dorian's mustache and soul patch works for him, though. If they have to do facial hair, I'd rather it was a neatly groomed, fancy mustache and soul patch or goatee combo, like fantasy often portrays their "dashing gentleman" types. I think it looks good on Dorian and I've seen it work before. Honestly, if clean shaven is out, I'd really rather have that than stubble, too. Not really a fan of stubble.
