Checking out the walkthrough for the demo and saw this. Can't help but laugh because I have a naughty image of a nude Dorian running around camp. Inquisitor, why do you have Dorian's robe in your inventory???

They really should expand on the whole companion armor system thing. They made it seem like all of them have interchangable outfits in their style and underneath they have longjohns on or something

From what I have seen, they have a general outfit and then the armor you add on top is modelled onto that outfit.

So now I'm thinking about race-gating. My initial reaction when we found out we had 2 race-gated companions was that it would be the last two announced - but obviously doesn't have to be true at all. So now I wonder if Dorian is race-gated (particularly with Qunari, given the tensions with Tenvinter). I hope not, but unfortunately it seems to be that this would be a "story reason" that they alluded to in reference to the race-gating.

But, Dorian wears an all white outfit. Getting him wet is only going to make him hotter.

So now I'm thinking about race-gating. My initial reaction when we found out we had 2 race-gated companions was that it would be the last two announced - but obviously doesn't have to be true at all. So now I wonder if Dorian is race-gated (particularly with Qunari, given the tensions with Tenvinter). I hope not, but unfortunately it seems to be that this would be a "story reason" that they alluded to in reference to the race-gating.

As I posted before, it's one of the few that currently make sense to me (that and Iron Bull, simply for reasons of the size difference between dwarf and qunari character models).

A lot of the other speculation seems to be mere opportunism (Varric could possibly be interested only in dwarves... therefore Varric could be one of the two romance options!). I can't think of story reasons for Cullen, Sera, or Josephine to care about anybody, and I think it's a reach for Vivienne to have some class preference (again, I think people are just looking for a way their favored love interest could be one of the two gated options); I could see Cassandra also not inclined to qunari romance (I would laugh greatly if both David's characters dissed qunari), but I don't think it would have any real story justification (it could be explained away, of course, but I think it's just as likely for her to not care, given what we currently know about her character).

Well. From what DG said about Dorian and Iron Bull, it made it seem Dorian does not have an in build prejudice against qunari, but may not like the Qun. So, the m!Inquisitor qunari probably would not bother Dorian if the Iron Bull does not really bother Dorian? Also, from the Iron Bull's little blurb, it made it sound like he spent a long time fighting dissent within the Qunari on Par Vollen. This to me, along with the quinquisitor, implies that the Qunari are more fractured than we think. In Tevinter, it might be completely common to run into non-Qunari qunari. So, Dorian might have some resentment toward the Qun, but might see the subtleties.

 

 

Also. There better be a way to strip companions down to their silly underwear. What's the point of being able to equip armor on companions again if we can't also take it off?

I wonder if the outfits will be locked to the companions? Because in the Raptr they said

And, the outfit could be locked if you look at the picture the Dorian's robe is in red. So they could be saying that the companion outfits are locked, or you can wear them but they are a different style so you're really not wearing that armor.
