Though, it could also be that she simply wasn't prepared enough for the mission. We don't know how much we can influence it afterall.

 

A part of me wishes the Inquisitor was an option, but that might just be because I want to see my character tortured horribly with their party being the heroes.

Maybe it's one of those situations where if you wait too long, that whole sequence happens, Leliana dies and companion #2 will be critically injured? I imagined if you went "on time" and didn't hold it off the mission would go much more successfully.

Dorian's voice is great, but my primary takeaway from that video is that Dark Leliana is hilarious. I'm not sure that's fair, but it's just a first impression and whatever, she's not real. She can't care what I think about her~

I'd like to be able to have some playthrough where I am not romancing him or taking him everywhere or need to poke him every five second.

It almost seems like Alexius betrayed all of you. Perhaps you meet Dorian initially through Alexius? Or perhaps you come across them just as Alexius is getting all brainwashed? He seemed to be of the same morals as Dorian if I got what Dorian said before right... then he gave up and went all psycho Magister

I do feel Alexius must have been one of the goods ones before... whatever happened happened. For him to be the one Dorian compared all others to, then he has to share the same morals... or, at least, Dorian believed he did.

Could be Alexius was a reformer too, neglected Felix? So now he has to succeed because it's costing him. So he delves into darker magic, deals with our villain. And he's just now realizing he screwed up.

You know, someone once mentioned an interesting theory in the Cullen thread, about how there might be some fade time travelling shenanigans that occur. I'm not sure how I feel about that idea yet, but there's something about how Alexius speaks that could fit into that theory at the very least. Even if it's a stretch. 

 

His answer to the Inquisitor, for instance: 'How many times have I tried? The past cannot be undone." 

 

Also, earlier: "I knew you would appear again. Not that it would be now, but I knew I hadn't destroyed you."

 

And... what if he wasn't calling Dorian his final failure? It sounds more like he's talking to the Inquisitor.

It was more to protect people who don't want to watch the demo because of spoilers. I didn't want to spoil dialogue-- though, I suppose I didn't mark demo spoilers on there. I'll fix.
