She just loves her boy and wants the best for him . She just got a bit tipsy and she doesn't understand the concept of human private life and secrets .
That's because she is always watching. ![]()

I was thinking of taking Dorian there in one of my *dirty* conversations - this is just a major inspiration ![]()

I don't know. A number of people seem to think he could be our healer. Which, honestly, I'd like that. I always want a healer with me, and I'd rather not have him and another Mage with me, because I plan on taking him everywhere with me.

I think it's a little early to say, but didn't Gaider's interview for Dorian mention something about him having a knack for the Spirit school of magic? So maybe that. Plus his pictures on the DA website show him using lightning, so possibly Primal as well. As for his specialization, I haven't the slightest clue other than that it's likely to be necromancer-esque. My PC was planned to be a support role mage but I'd be willing to change that if he turns out to be our healer, considering the E3 demo made it look like Creation was collapsed into the Spirit branch.
They might go the route that your companions just don't have any "set" skills when you first obtain them, to maximize the player's ability to shape them into what they need. Although both DA games have had auto level-up options....

It would be great if he was the healer. I'm just trying to wrap my mind around how the skill trees in the spell schools have been moved and mixed. I think a lot of the healing spells have been moved into the creation and spirit trees.

From what they said in the Raptr Q & A there's some kind of mechanic that limits the usage of healing spells. Possibly the new team power they talked about that could slow down time. Though it could be a different system all together. The point being it seems unlikely that any of the mages are specially healers, most likely there's less healing spells this time around. It's not like there was very many healing spells to begin with, though. It seems like they may be focusing more on damage reduction buff spells, and possibly elemental resistance spells.

Did they say if it was per mage or per fight?

They didn't. They just said a new mechanic would prevent certain spells like healing from being spammed. I can look for the quote if you like?
Edit=Found it:
Q. About mana-management. If mana indeed can restore during fight what’s preventing spam-healing?
A. There’s a new combat mechanic which gates those powerful abilities and spells. [Cameron]

Yeah, I think this is the "focus" system, or whatever. Some talents and skills run on a separate cooldown.
I don't think any mage will be a default healer. David says Dorian used spirit magic, which has already been its own school in DA:O and DA2.

To be honest, I don't see the point of making healing spells these ultra special skills. Maybe a revive spell or a group heal spell, but a single target heal with a large cooldown should still be a regular skill, IMO.

Didn't know about the new combat mechanic. That's kind of neat, but I'll be kind of sad depending on just how difficult they make it to use healing spells. But I totally get them wanting to make sure people can't just spam the heal spell.
I think the reason most people thought he'd be the healer is because of his talents with the Spirit school of magic (whether those talents have been confirmed are are just what people think, I don't know). Then, with the screenshot below showing the description of the Spirit school, I think people just assumed he'd be the healer.

I don't think we should be assuming that there's even "a healer", though, or "a damage mage", or "a support mage". Nothing so far has suggested that the companions have set roles.
It looks like every mage has access to every skill tree. You can spec them however you want, exactly like warriors can be either sword/shield or two-handed, and rogues can use a bow or daggers.

You might be right. That would be nice, because then you can use whichever mage you prefer, rather than having to use the one that best suits your currents needs.
I was just saying, I think that was how the assumption that Dorian would be a healer came about. I don't think there was ever really anything else that lead people to believe that, except maybe some wishful thinking.

Yeah, I'm hoping our companions will be malleable. I'd love to spec my Mage Inquisitor and Dorian differently so he can be in my party all the time. ![]()

I did this on the Josephine thread but I really wanna do it here too.
What song lyrics can make you think of Dorian?
I'm gonna say (because it's been stuck in my head for a while):
-
Put your lips close to mine, as long as they don't touch.
Out of focus, eye to eye, till the gravity is too much.
And I'll do anything you say, if you say it with your hands.
And I'd be smart to walk away, but you're quick sand.
This slope is treacherous, this path is reckless and I, I, I like it.
-
The amount of fanfiction I'm thinking about now.

Think for Dorian I'd go with "Bittersweet Me " By REM.
https://www.youtube....h?v=-R2hvKDFLHE
I move across, innocence lost (...)
I'd sooner chew my leg off
Than be trapped in this
How easy you think of all of this as bittersweet me
(...)
Oh, my peer, your veneer
Is wearing thin and cracking
The surface informs that underneath
The underneath is lacking
Etc...I guess it could be about Dorian situation in Tevinter ?

While it does remind me of Dorian, it's probably more a hidden desire to push Adore Delano and his amazing voice to as many people as possible at the same time. ![]()

The title alone suffices! I'll check the song out when I can, you're a loyal fan as it seems ![]()
