Well not maybe 100% drama but nobody says this if the romance is all about flowers , and kissy faces.

 

Anyway my Dalish/Dorian romance isn't meant to be drama free , since so far I think my Dalish will really want to go back to the forests and probably his people.

I can't imagine Dorian would follow (well the Dalish would probably kill him anyway) and my elf won't go anywhere near Tevinter (that slavery thing isn't all that thrilling.)

 

My headcannon is they are probably going to break up at the end.

I suppose 'powerful' could mean a punch in the gut or a sword through the heart, but I'm cautiously optimistic that Dorian's romance arc will conclude on a promising, if not slightly blithesome, note.

And I said "Well, Dorian seems to be the most interesting character, and he is gay so... I don´t really have a choice. But I am very intruiged. And thats probably because it will be a gay romance..."

Your playing a role playing game so there is nothing wrong with it. You're in a game where you can be anything. So why let your real word self hold you back? I plan on doing every romance and I don't think it is going to hurt my morals in any way. It's your game play it the way you want to.

No it's not weird. There are plenty of people who roleplay genders and orientations different than their own. Have fun 

 

Personally, I played men and women of every orientation and romanced every character I found interesting in DAO and DA2.

There is nothing wrong with it. I just find it...interesting...that I look so much forward to it. I did Fenris x mHawke as well. And it was so... I loved it. Fasinating. Dont think I would be able to romance Fenris with femHawke.

I try to tell my brother the same, it's a game, you can role play however you want. I'm a guy who decided my Dragon Age 2 canon would be a Female Hawke (and possibly even romance Merril) (And no I'm not the kind of guy who is obsessed with f/f action, at all) 

I think in addition to building a character I can emotionally relate to, building a character that explores other interests of mine (even ones that I don't loudly express because they go against my beliefs and morals and such) are also a valid reason for me to look forward to making multiple, different playthroughs. I actually might have a playthrough where I romance Dorian and one to romance Iron Bull with a dwarf.

*That said I could never ever be able to build a purely evil character, I'm such a wimp*
On a side note, I do concur with your choice, romancing Fenris with femHawke just doesn't feel as good as the male.

Nothing wrong with it at all.  I'm looking forward to my second (or third) playthrough where I get to romance Cullen with my female inquisitor.

I don't find it odd at all to look forward to playing a male PC to romance Dorian if you're female. I'll be doing that as well though not as part of my main canon word state (that will be my fQunari mage with Cullen).

 

In fact my canon for DA2 is a mHawke romancing Anders so...Initially I chose mHawke because I wanted a m/m romance instead of the same old-same old f/m romance that's literally everywhere. But after hearing much about the small but significant differences between the Anders romance with fHawke as opposed to mHawke, I'm very glad I chose mHawke.

 

Anyway my PCs aren't necessarily me, they're influenced by parts of my personality at times, but they're their own person so I choose the story that I want to witness play out not just stories I think will align perfectly with my gender/sexuality/race/whatnot. I imagine it's much the same for many others as it is a role playing game. 

 

I think it's great people other than gay/bi men want to play a male PC to romance Dorian. Like you said it's fascinating to role play them.

Yeah... Real life offers enough tragedies in that regard, would be nice to have a happy one in fantasy at least :/

I'm contemplating of having a cynical Dwarven Inquisitor romance Dorian. House Cadash has gotten kicked around quite a bit in the past, and despite all of the sacrifices made to preserve what's left of the empire they're stuck up on the surface. Dorian's idealistic and much too smart for his own good, but damn it if he isn't cute:

Dorian: ...and hopefully my assistance sealing the Breach will help lend some credibility to my cause.

Inquisitor: You'll be killed within a week.

Dorian: (deflated) I take it that you won't be joining me when I head back to Minrathous then?

Inquisitor: Of course I am. If you're so set on going out in a blaze of glory I'll be by your side.

Dorian: I apologize if you were hoping for a long and happy relationship.

Inquisitor: (sighs) Short and exciting, that's what you get with me.

I'm hoping there will be multiple outcomes at the end of the game with what does and doesn't happen with Inquisitor and Dorian. I can see it being pretty exciting to go to Tevinter and go out in a blaze of glory, but I hope we can have a more optimistic outcome aside from that.
