I can't say I care much about his VA, I heard him in the demo , liked it so I'm happy.

Overall I just don't like actors much , most of them tends to annoys me for some reasons.

I should stop watching all those VA video , some of them made me  less excited about the game.

It's like, you get this image of the character and then, unless it's a famous actor, you get the image of the actor and once you see them it's like... "That's not at all what I expected. Why is his voice the only sexy part of him? I don't understand this, nor do I like it. Someone get me a sexier man with the same voice, please."

 

It's so shallow of me, but it might be the reason behind me not enjoying a VA. Of course, I thought the opposite of Vega from ME. He kind of annoyed me because, just from the appearance alone and nothing backing it up (minus the really stubborn, "We need to go back to earth. Omg Shepard, PLS" thing in the beginning) I just thought he was a dumb meathead. But, god, Freddie Prinze, Jr. is sexy. Ooh, talk Spanish to me papi. But, I do like Morrigan's VA, Claudia Black. She just seems so regal and so... so much like Morrigan, in the way that she looks. Like a maybe older version of her, though I doubt she acts the way Morrigan does... lol.

 

Aaaanyway... I see Dorian more as Apollo, Eros, or Dionysus to me. Maybe a mix of them all. I mean, with all these trees, dis game needs more Druidic plant magic. Wait, do the Dalish do that? Maybe they do... I dunno much about it. I would love that, actually.

Anyway it's not about how they look at all...it's stuff they say , their general behavior.

I really liked the Claudia Black video overall (for the same reasons as you) I didn't like FPJ and The female VA for the Inquisitor.

So I'm less looking forward to the Iron Bull ,and playing a female Inquisitor.

I've been wondering about the big snake on his outfits , I know it's part of Tevinter symbolism , but I wonder if it's related to Dorian personality (like the hearts on Cass armor)...can't say I'm a huge fan of snakes .But it's a very strong symbol .And not a bad /or evil one.

The snake could be part of his personal style. For example, Cassandra armor is always going to have a seeker mark on it even if it is not on her chest. So, the snake on Dorian's back could move to his chest if you put a breast plate on him. It's a small detail that says "Hey everyone I'm from Tevener!".

I am far too amused by the idea of walking around with a qunari , a obvious Tevinter mage ,a rebel city elf ,and my Dalish...Especially in Orlais , they hate Qunari and Tevinter and well nobody takes the elves seriously.

 

I think Dorian may be the only diplomat in this team ...

Ah, I'll refrain from mentioning that, then. Claudia Black is awesome though; I lerv her. She did a wonderful job with Morrigan.

 

ANYWAY, yes, must discuss Dorian. I personally think the symbol is very personal for Dorian and a lot like Cass and her Seeker symbols. She cares deeply about what  she does and what she represents, and takes great pride in it. I think that's the same way with Dorian and to hide that would be hypocritical. Kind of a, "I only like my home when it's to my standards and no other time," deal and I don't think that's right. I think Dorian takes great pride in Tevinter, no matter what they do or where they are, but the difference is that he wants to change the bad things and wants to make it a better place. His motives aren't selfish and it shows in how he presents himself and what he wears. All that garb is very Tevinter and it just shouts, "I'm a Tevinter mage, look at my glory!" even though people are probably going to be more distracted by his gorgeous 'stache.

 

Lets talk about Dorian's mustache. It is amazing. I want to twirl it suggestively. That's all we'll do. My Inquisitor and Dorian will be cuddling by a fire in Skyhold, drinking wine, and my Quizzy, all night, will just twirl his 'stache. Nothing else.

 

That is the ultimate asexual romance, right there. It's just 'stache twirling. That's all you need to do and it is more than enough. MORE than enough. Because it is Dorian and it's his 'stache. What more could we all ask for?!

I don't have a problem with religion in general, but people who are really preachy and try to force their beliefs on others is annoying.  I hope they aren't too much of a walking commercial for the faith.  Though, that video seems to show at least Leliana has reached a new level of devotion.

It's just the advisors tipping the scale. If you count only party members, DAI might have less Chantry Andrastians than the previous games. It's only Cassandra for certain. And very probably Vivienne. Possibly Blackwall but we barely know him.

Okay I'm sorry but I need to say something here. You say you liked his voice but knowing who gave him such a wonderful voice is.. Annoying? A voice actor breathes life into the words on a page (or screen these days) and they work their butt off, sitting in one quiet and usually warm and stuffy room for HOURS, having to repeat lines over and over, having to keep their energy up all that time, having to keep the voice consistent in between sessions (good luck being sick cause you're screwed) and having celebrities who know **** all about voice acting taking a much, MUCH larger paycheck than yours home because they're famous... And yet you sound and are much more talented. This is a very hard job. It takes a lot of skill and goddamn if I don't look up to those guys.

Can you imagine how life would be if Dorian sounded like he was voiced by someone from a C grade English anime dub? What if he had a godawful English accent that didn't sound real at all? What if his romance lines were all pitchy and monotone? It'd ruin the wonderful words written by Gaider, it'd ruin the direction from Caroline... It'd make them look bad. It happens. Ruined potential because the voice actor and/or direction was crap. Soooo many games fall prey to it.

Please. Show some respect for that. You might not know what goes into voice acting, but there you are. It's a tough job and whoever Dorians voice actor is... I'm so impressed. I want to know who that bastard is and I want to give him a truckload of compliments and squees and whatever.
