We can equip companions with armor again, like in DA: O. What's really interesting in DA: I, however, is that the same armor set will look slightly different on each of the companions. In effect, they will make the look their own. So if Vivienne, Solas, and Dorian were all to put on the same armor set, they would still retain their unique style to some degree.

I use two mages. I like to have a attacker and a healer. But, with the new system Dorian and I will be be mixed AOE and support. I will be his shield while he heals me with his mustache kisses.

What's better than two mages? THREE mages! Me, Dorian, and Vivienne are gonna rock it out while Blackwall tanks. I really hope they played on the spell combinations like in DAO. I use to kill everyone with Death Cloud and Death Hex then shift into my spider form if that didn't finish them off. ^.^
Reminds me of how I killed the Mother in DA:A. So many AOE spells going at once, I couldn't see anything for all the animations.

Something I've noticed, and it's a very disturbing trend - every character I've seen, even the head models from the CC, have incredibly nibbly lips!!! This is a particular problem for me, as I will have to save constantly to get to hear what I didn't listen to the first time because I was too busy staring at all the luscious mouths. I think I will need to double my estimated time for playthroughs lol
