Is it wrong that every time I watch Dorian land all I can think is "not the ass!" ?

Hopefully, this is not a dying scene. I got the impression that some characters in the trailer died (Dorian, Sera, Blackwall) ... same as in ME2. : (

Dorian lost his balance and fell on his ass. I'm not entirely convinced that's necessarily indicative of a potential death scene.

Kinda late to hop on this bandwagon I know, but I just have to say I was rewatching the Redcliffe demo...this man just has an extremely dreamy voice. It rivals Blackwall's for me.

By all means, appreciate Dorian's voice all you want; worship it even. It's entrancing, I know. I just wish we knew the man behind the voice so that we can appreciate him too.

There was a blog, but for all we know the slip up about Solas might have put that on hold or invalidated the need for it.  It's never been more than speculation on what was in the blog.  Either way, I'm tired of waiting for the news.  

 

I just want to plan out my playthroughs darn it!  hehee.  Dorian will be first regardless, but till I know the gating I can't really proceed.  Ugh, I hope I don't have to wait till someone plays through the game to know these things.

I don't blame you.  The options were not balanced at all.  I guess that's the reason why the dev's felt the need to keep pointing out that more fans that came to the expo's and what have you were female?  I guess the game is officially being geared towards women now.

Same. It's not even a matter of Blackwall being available only to women, but the fact that straight women get 4 options while everyone else gets 2.

Yup, and if John Epler hadn't fixed up Iron Bull, gay men wouldn't even have two full romances.

While I'm not at all interested in Blackwall or Solas, I would've felt much worse had Vivienne been bisexual. We would've been the only demographic with an option less than everyone else. That's why this outcome is a bit easier to swallow.

I think it'll be a few days before I can totally absorb the ramifications of having all the information available.  However, I have Dorian so I am happy with the options.  Don't think the distribution of options is very fair though, but still I got the love interest I wanted form the start so I shall not complain.

To be fair, its only female elves with 4 and female humans with 3.

Yeah, that's kind of depressing to think about...but there's no point in dwelling on what ifs. We ended up getting the manly beefcake Qunari in addition to the dashing Tevinter noble. That's all that matters!

Dude, same! After Solas was revealed, I hoped so hard that Vivienne would be a straight, human-only romance so we wouldn't be the only ones left with 2 love interests. Well, seeing as she's not even a romance, I think I prefer this outcome. I'm happy that Blackwall is a core romance, and that Solas, whom I never had a single urge to romance, is an after-thought. No offense to Solas fans.

 

So...obviously, I think I'm over it. Could be better, could be worse. I'm just thankful for what we've gotten.

I kind of disagree... having another bisexual or potential lesbian woman among the main characters would have been a good thing. For me, the more important thing was always which sexualities are represented with the main characters instead of how many do I personally get to romance. For representation's sake, I hope Vivienne is still gay or bisexual even without a romance, but I very much doubt it will happen.

 

Oh well I shouldn't complain, out of the 8 romanceable characters we have, 4 are straight and 4 are not. We know Leliana is bi, and it's safe to assume Varric is straight. I can live with that.

This isn't something new actually. ME3 wasn't really balanced either. If Kaidan dies there was no heterosexual romances left unless you continued it from ME2 (Garrus and Thane)

But almost all companions are romancable... that's new.

Alright, I should've said a romanceable bisexual Vivienne would've hurt worse because that scenario provides everyone but gay men 3 options. As you mentioned in your post, Vivienne can still be bisexual or lesbian without having to be a love interest. That still counts as representation.
