Congratulations Dorian, you will be my first gay male love interest.
Now, do I be an exotic dalish first, a fellow manmage or a big horny spellslinger ???
Or should I be a dashing rogue?

Aargh ! Curse my MCCS (multiple character creation syndrome).

My only worry is that he's literally too fabulous and every other LI will be nothing in comparison so there's no way I'll do anyone after him. Especially given the fact that it won't be the first run so it all won't be so fresh and shiny and some random boring LI won't help at all.

But what the heck, who needs them anyway.

Doesn't so much sound like a worry to me , so much as awesome :D  lol I'm glad that he is getting so much attention put into him and I shall do the same!

I don't understand the negativity, and some of the responses seem to be lacking a little class, to be honest. :(

I would have been thrilled if Vivienne had been lesbian or bisexual, even if we ended up with the least amount of options. I wouldn't have wanted her to be straight, because then the gay population in total would have had fewer options than the straight population, but lesbians having as many or more options than everybody else would have been spectacular.

I'm devastated that Vivienne isn't a bisexual option, not because Blackwall is a straight option but because there are some women who were really looking forward to romancing her, and they in particular have to deal with a lot of offensive nonsense when it comes to people explaining how it makes so much sense for Vivienne to not be a romance option. Regardless, I'm happy for the women who wanted to romance Blackwall (they're some of the ones who got strung along the longest).

I don't like that I only have access to one male character I would consider romancing (try as I might, I just cannot see Iron Bull as a legitimate option), but as is often stated, it's not really BioWare's responsibility to ensure that all the options they provide are ones that will actually interest me, and there does seem to (somehow) be a lot of interest in Iron Bull from other players interested in playing gay characters. (And I'm getting one of the ones David wrote, so who cares anyway, really.)

I still would have preferred everyone getting an equal number of options, but I'm truly not bothered by the outcome here. I think they have a varied spread, and although some of the decisions may be a bit curious, I don't think it speaks to any real malice or intent on BioWare's part to favor one group over another.

The way I look at it - we *all* have 8 options...if we choose not to play as a character of a specific gender, sexuality or race that is *our* choice.  BioWare has still provided 8 options.

It's just feels kinda stupid having 8 people this time (who don't seems like they're just out of the psych ward, like in DA2 and total "meh" in general like in DAO) and still end up with only one every playthrough.

So much for roleplaying...

I agree!
I am rolling multiple characters of different races and orientations. Why limit myself? And bioware have provided such wonderful characters to choose from!

For the most part, I'm really only interested in playing a gay male Inquisitor, because that is something we could rarely ever do in video games.

However, in saying that, I'm so glad Dorian's not race-restricted, and I'm happy for straight female players for their luck. I just hope they don't rub it in our faces, though. But Dorian!

Dorian seems great and I'm happy to have him, but the tweet saying having him means we have "nothing to complain about" vs getting twice as many options just grates my nerves. It's incredibly dismissive.

Apparently some of them are too busy being upset they can't romance Cullen with a Qunari to be grateful.  (generalized statement, but yeah...I don't feel bad for anyone who has the most options and still complains)

I have to admit, while I'm looking forward to romancing both of them a lot, I'm also hoping that Dorian and Iron Bull hook up if you don't romance either of them, like Garrus and Tali. Looks like I'm not alone in that!

Maybe she meant that Dorian is going to be incredibly well written and amazing that we won't really have much to complain about after meeting him?

I'm sure that's what she meant, but I imagine the three choices we don't have access to are also well written and enjoyable. I don't think she meant to be rude, but it's dismissive of the fact that who is better is subjective. The fact is, half as much content is half as much content.

Two words about about Blackwall... The. Calling.

I didn't see that going well from the beginning, but while it's great as he is as a character and an option for a romance, well...

But back onto Dorian...

exactly. They said they put the same money in all romances, so I think all of them will have the same quality. Everything else is just personal perference. But what's not subjective is the fact that straight female gamers have twice as many romances. And since all romances are full fledged it really makes a difference. They get more content for their money.

I think these tweets hyping up Dorian's romance arc compounded with Patrick Weekes' comment about it being powerful suggests that it might, indeed, exceed our expectations. :D

I'm so happy Dorian isn't gated. My first playthrough is a complete go now, which is a big relief, since I got too attached to my idea already.

are these two from the bioware staff or just fans?
