Hmm...  A comment over in the romance thread just made me wonder if the Dorian fans also think this about the character:

Does Dorian really come accross as the 'typcial bottom' to you?

 

Reading the comment mad me go "O.o ... Wtf? Are you seeing something I do not?" mentally.

Cause I can totally see Dorian as a dominat partner and never once thought him a 'typcial' 'bottom' at all.

To me Dorian seems more like a type who doesn't mind. A 'switcher'. And thus seems to go well with one of my characters. If their personalities go along, which will be left to be seen in the game.

 

Generally I'm looking forward to having him along in any of my walkthroughs (and I've got many ahead of me XD). Be it as friend or partner.

Well first of all there is nothing typical about Dorian. He's too dashing to be tied down by limitations. I don't get a bttm vibe from him at all.

When I roleplay as gay men in games, I like to roleplay that they're bisexual men who bottom or switch, which would leave Dorian top by default. Wow, I never realized how weirdly specific that head canon was until I finished typing it. Still, I suppose it's subjective. Presumably the scene will fade to black before we get confirmation either way.

If I were the devs I'd be pretty dismissive by this point too.

People are being entirely unreasonable about this. Everyone still has two options, and most of them look like fantastic characters.

Well... At this point I'm rather curious on how our first encounter with Dorian will go. And just how dashing he can be

 

Anyone already got an idea or wishing for a particular scenario on how and where Dorian, the dashing, will enter the stage the scene?

What is the "typical bottom" like anyway? Effete? If so then no. For what it's worth he struck me as verse, but I imagine each person is going to read what they want to read into it anyway. And I don't imagine the game is going to be particularly detailed/explicit when it comes to the hanky-panky.

I planned so far: male elf mage for Josie, male human warrior for Cass, female qunari rogue for IB, female dwarf warrior for Blackwall, female human mage for Cullen. Not sure on Sera because I want to try a female elf...but I'm worried about the noodle arms.

I would suggest a dwarf or qunari since it seems like you already have 2 humans planned. Maybe qunari mage so that you can see the difference between backgrounds for mages and non-mages? It's up to what you think would be the most fun, really.

Personally, I'm going to start out with my usual human male rogue, get known to the characters, romance whoever I see fit best (in his case, I'll probably select from Iron Bull, Dorian and Cassandra. Mayyybe Josephine, but somehow I think one of the first three will most likely make it.) or just let him go through the game solo.

Afterwards I'll see which of my other planned characters will go best with Dorian. Right now I've got a Qunari mage and elf mage planned, whom I think might go well with Dorian if my human rogue doesn't go for him first :3

Is that subtly implied criticism? (EDIT: If not, apologies, Poe's Law strikes again.) I'm sure we've spoken about Dorian's personality, voice and general awesomeness in at least one of the 472 pages of this thread. But we are a bit of a horny bunch I guess.

You guys are being incredibly stereotypical about deciding Dorian's preference during sex. (And a bit weird..)

 

You can't always tell if some is 'this or that' based on how they look or act. Plenty of guys seems like tops until you get them in bed. Trust me i know.
