There's relatively little sex talk in the Cassandra thread.  Oddly, much of it is speculation on her personality.

 
I said some not all!! I don't think we are the only ones and I just find it hilarious that people can't complain about it here. Discussions about everything Dorian here. It happens to also have sexy discussions and I know it's because Dorian brings out the sexpot in us all.
 

To be fair, for a while the Varric thread was based entirely around his chest hair. For like...I dunno, 600 pages probably ?

Well it is interesting that tons of raunchy imaginings of how sexytime would be for straight companions IS TOTALLY OKAY AND EVERYONE IGNORES IT but here? OHHH NOOOOOOOO~ Maybe they do complain about it for everyone, too. Lord knows I've complained.

I mean, I dislike raunchy fanart/fanfiction in general but I voice that. I've said, "Oh that's a bit much for me" and moved on.

You can't always tell if some is 'this or that' based on how they look or act. Plenty of guys seems like tops until you get them in bed. Trust me i know.

All I was saying is that from my perceptive of what I've seen of him so far I personally don't get a bttm or top vibe from him. I get a Dorian vibe and whether he is vers, top, bttm, or whatever it doesnt really matter because its Dorian. What's not to love?

The fact that so many devs love Dorian bodes really well for us. Not only are we going to have a amazing romance with an awesome character, but the fact that he's a gay male might encourage more of the writing staff to explore gay characters in future games. They'll have an example of a well written, well received gay character to inspire them!

To be honest, the only way that we are ever going to get more options is if the writers decide to write more m/m content. Maybe seeing how well received and even, gasp, 'mainstream' Dorian's popularity might be could inspire more them to try it for their next character. If they don't pitch m/m content, it won't end up in the game. At least that's my understanding. So the fact that many devs (men, women, straight, gay) are enjoying this content so much might be a good thing for us in the future.

I think both his eyes and that of Cassandra are my favorite. I think his green-gold eyes contrast so well with the darker skin tone. It gives him a great look.

I disagree with that sentiment, but it's all good.

Bah, the talk around here has never been above pg 13....some of the images though...well those are only linked at least. and usually under spoilers as well.  I'm always shocked that so many people playing a rated M game are so scared of the slightest mention of gay sex.

Maybe. I think the initial reason he might have left Tevinter was because he didn't have the power to change it. Unfortunately, short of some earth shattering event, I don't think Tevinter is ready to change. In my honest opinion, I think it needs to fall to the Qunari first, and rebuild itself from the ground up.

 

Granted, by joining the Inquisition, perhaps we can provide resources with which he can help change Tevinter, or at least get his foot in the door, so to speak.

I'd be surprised if the rest of the Thedas won't declare a war on Tevinter at this point. If the venatori are truly behind all of this, I mean.

 

Anyhow, without knowing what he's up to exactly, it's hard to tell. I mean "join the Inquisition" is not a real plan, like, what are you going to do then? 

I'm also curious if Varric will draw some parallels between him and Anders. Like, "why can't you mages just sit idle and what's all that with "trying to change the world for good" stuff" or something like that.

Debating the sexual preferences of fictional characters like they're actual people just weirds me out a lot, I guess. If this is meant to be the thread where people come to discuss Dorian as a character, his friendship arc, his romance, his role in the story, etc, does it really need back-and-forth arguing about the details of sex? I think that might scare away the majority of people who might be interested in Dorian in DA:I but aren't planning on romancing him.

 

That guy who analysed Tali's sweat was (correctly) said to be pretty damn creepy, for me there's something unsettling about earnestly discussing what Dorian would want to do in bed. Nobody finds that a bit too involved?

 

(Never mind that a bunch of the discussion is wrapped up in stupid stereotypes.)
