Who knows. I personally don't think he'll have too much stake in supporting the mages of White Thedas.Dorian doesn't really strike me as the kind of guy that would be against the mages just because they took longer to demand their freedom. If anything I think he'd support them for wanting to change their lot, much like he wants to change the way things are going in Tevinter. Either way though, he's going to have a big influence on my choices in the game. So I hope he's as smart as he is handsome, or we could be in trouble.

It's the mustache, isn't it?
And the thighs
But honestly.. I find him hilariously brilliant too.

The Circle is needed because it provides training and oversight for mages, but the Tevinter version is corrupt and willing to turn an eye to the nobility's excesses.
The Chantry on the other hand controls the Templars, Seekers, lyrium trade, and has close ties to the rulers of most of the Andrastean nations. Mages can't really negotiate because the Chantry has the deck stacked against them.

It would suck if he was pro chantry, but if he is I shall have to deal with it. Perhaps he'll at least be willing to negotiate on some middle ground like reforming the chantry a great deal.

Oh, I guarantee he's anti-White Chantry. I think he's pro-Black Chantry, which is a completely different ball game.

As a Dalish Elf I probably won't give much care to either the black chantry or white chantry.

I doubt that, even with his disgust for the corruption of the Tevinter Imperium, Dorian is pro-Chantry in the sense that, say, Vivienne is. We don't even know the full extent of his views on Tevinter corruption, after all; he could very well think that the Imperial Chantry has some of the right ideas. I'm still running with the theory that he's our "take a third option" point of view companion, who doesn't actually see anything wrong with the type of magocracy in which he was raised so long as the blood magic, demonology, and slavery aspects are cut out of it. It's an intriguing thought, in any case.

Heck, we don't even know for certain what his views on either slavery and demonology/blood magic is. I mean, he's already a necromancer, which is seriously toeing the line in regards to what is considered light and dark magic.

That gif was wild from start to finish. Wow.
Also, fight on! We believe in you, Elu!

True, necromancy is a seriously gray area in the whole dark/light dichotomy of Thedosian magic. I mean, for instance, what Quentin did to Leandra and all those other women was seriously sick and obviously wrong, but I to this day I wonder whether it would be considered necromancy or just plain blood magic. The distinction, or lack thereof, worries me a bit.
It's difficult to parse what someone truly views as corruption when they were raised within a system with such wildly different views than the rest of the world, anyway. The views that made Dorian a radical in Tevinter society could still mark him as morally dubious outside of it.
Not that I'd love him any lesser for it. I'm on the Pavus Character Appreciation Express for the long haul, here. ![]()

What are you trying to write about, exactly? More training? An after-combat discussion? Chatting about Skyhold improvements over breakfast?

Dorian meeting Hawke and her LI Fenris, by Tellinpa on tumblr:
The first encounter
-Serah Hawke, could I ask about the man you arrived with? If it’s no trouble.
-Of course.
-Have the feeling I’ve said something to offend him; he has been giving me quite the stare the few times we’ve interacted.
-Ah, about that. You don’t need to worry about it. He has… quite the history with Tevinter mages.

This is seriously reaffirming my desire to play a mage to romance Dorian with.
This Winter's Grasp looked freaking enormous!
Agreed!! I definitely think I'll be making a towering Qunquisitor Mage that can smother Dorian with love!

Right?! I mean I've always planned a mage for Dorian but the visuals of these elemental spells is seriously making me rethink going Entropy for my Inquisitor...

Poor Dorian, that armor requires at least 13 cunning.
