Not really. It seems that most of the time we talk to them on the spot they are, but sometimes a cutscene gets triggered and we teleport.

I guess it's like how in Origins or DA2 when you initiated conversation with a companion, occasionally a special scene would trigger with somebody else in the party. In the DAO camp it might've even involved moving around that campground area.

 

Skyhold does essentially the same thing, but it might look a bit more unorthodox because the place is so damn huge

If the sideboob had us drooling, imagine what a full view of that bare, broad chest will do to us. I know it's illogical to leave a mage unequipped with armor on the battlefield, but Dorian is a gift. He has a body that deserves worshipping even if it means dying. A lot.
