You could just call him "Mahogany Guy", based on David Gaider's tweet. Something about him and another writer laughing over the war room concept art, saying that the guy looks like he's reacting to the knife in the table. "That is mahogany!" (Obviously a reference to The Hunger Games.)

Wasn't that meant for Scribe Girl?

Well... *coughs*

Heh, I haven't read any, but the obvious love for it made me think that had to be it.

I was thinking, it sort of looks like DHMG is a bit short in comparison to the others, it might be the difference in distance to the table and such. I wonder though, if he would revel at that as well, people expecting him to be taller.

Yes! He is still dramatic and still has a moustache, though both are disappointingly less prominent in the latest in-game screenshot. DHMG with arms folded looks weird and scary.

(My main point was that we should keep calling him Dramatic Hands Moustache Guy until Bioware official or unofficially reveals a name, just in case he's actually called Fred now or something. The last thing I want to do is mislead people...)

I understand that.  Though it's funny because the composite picture that was labeled "Dramatic Hands Moustache Guy" went around parts of the office, so that's the term now used internally by some people :P

He's standing like my boyfriend does when someone has commented on his excessive gesticulating, so in my head, it's like DHMG has to physically restrain himself from Dramatic Hands during important meetings/photo ops.

If both DHMG and Scribbles are uttered by Varric at some point, I think we'd probably cheer!

I can see it now:

Varric (initiating his first party banter with DHMG): Hey DHMG...

DHMG: Hmm what was that?

Varric: Nothing just trying something out.

I am really interested to see what his voice will be like, thinking about it more. It seems like not all people we've seen from Tevinter had the same accent?

Scottish accent eh? I don't think that would be healthy.

Though I'd think that's a Starkhaven thing only, maybe?

I thought it was a Starkhaven thing as well, but I wouldn't mind at all

Dramatic Hands Moustache Guy is a companion! Here he is in the trailer's final scene:

Something else to consider is that Lambert van Reeves came from Tevinter originally, and his surname sounds Dutch. It's possible that accents are based on regions, or ethnicity, or social class.

(Although, the overwhelming norm in fantasy and even historical fiction is to give "Roman" aristocratic characters stereotypically upper-class English accents, and BW might be doing the same for Dorian. Especially if the character is partly inspired by an actual upper-class English aristocrat.)

I'm actually warming upto DHMG.. since seeing him in the trailer I'm excited to find out more.

I honestly thought he looked pretty silly in the concept art (too much mustache and just looked too comedic for my tastes) but in game he actually looks pretty cool. If he is Dorian that would be awesome. Based off who we're getting he's probably my first choice for LI at the moment. Hope we learn some more of him soon.

To be fair, I think it was just a Sebastian thing, since he was the only one with it. All the other Starkhaven people had an English one.

Though I'm sure there was a Dalish floating around somewhere on Sundermount with the Scottish accent. Maybe they've infiltrated various nations and cultures?  DHMG/Dorian could be the ringleader!

I rather like Scottish accents, so I'd be quite happy to hear one from him. Sebastian's was just lovely.

Been wanting to try my hand at some animation. Couldn't think of anything to make of the guy, so I saw it as an excuse to finally give it a go. Not the smoothest piece of animation though ehehe

Ooh, never has 'Maker take the wheel' felt more appropriate...

That smirk.

So rumours are stirring and I stress rumours!

DHMG is possibly only an advisor!

given that many people are say that cullen is an advisor (not confirmed by bioware)

this may make sense. supposedly Cullen is a military advisor

meaning that DHMG is probably logistics/money advisor, which would make sense in that it creates conflict between them on more then one level

power vs logic

templar vs mage

generic blonde hair vs Moustache

the only problem with this I see is that in my head cannon Dorian is so witty and intellectual that its not really a fair fight.

Cullen: this is a major strategic point we should garrison troops here and re enforce the area, so it cant be taken!

Dorian: Inquisitor in an ideal world mr cullen is correct but I'm afraid the Inquisition is in, Dire need of finances there are far more pressing issues we need to address, we can find another location for the men to polish their armour but we need funds NOW!

Cullen: Your FUNDS! are useless if we cant hold this location, the enemy will attack if we are to hold this ground we need steel!

Dorian: and how do you intend to supply the men with steel without gold? Harsh words and rocks? or maybe you can try swaying them with your winning personality?

Cullen:.............and what good is your coin when an army at the door? how do you intend to defeat an army with gold and sliver?

Dorian: Iron Bull, how much money would it take to say, have you rip off the......Former, Knight captains arm and beat him with it?

Iron Bull: More then you have Mr dorian.

Dorian: But there is a price?

Iron Bull: every thing has a price.

Cullen:  :o

Dorian: and how much would it take to divert your band of mercenaries to harass the near by town thus preventing the enemy from deploying a large number of troops and leaving the town unprotected?

Iron Bull: substantially less.

Dorian: You see mr cullen? problem solved.

Cullen: wait.... Iron bull you would really charge this mage more to cause me physical harm then risk the lives of your own men?

Iron bull: of course.......If i harm you i owe the Inquisitor a new military advisor.. AHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHA

Dorian:

Inquisitor:

Cullen:  :o

Iron bull: HAHAHAAHAAAHAHAAHAHAHAHA *walks out of the room* AHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAAH...

How does that make any sense, though? I might have entertained that possibility a month ago, but certainly not now.

Twelve characters other than the Inquisitor were in the Last Supper screenshot, nine of which were companions. Three were NPCs, and so far the best guess is that these were Leliana, Cullen and the Scribe - because of all those characters, they were the three not holding weapons. The politics and trade advisor is likely to be the Scribe Lady, not Dorian. She wears golden clothing, and she was pictured writing a letter or a report.

We also know that the classes are evenly balanced, so if DHMG wasn't a companion there'd need to be another mage. We have seen no other mages, and there are no other characters who could replace him in the recently-released trailer screenshot.

Good to see Dorian confirmed as a companion, I can't believe the number of people who thought he was a warrior.

hey i'm only repeating what i heard, I said it makes sense from the POV of conflict between advisors its a well established mechanism two advisors not getting along you each have different perspectives, the more opposite the advisors are the greater the little niggling agro thing between them. drives home how shaky things are and how you need to unite them etc etc.

I guess I'm more cranky at whoever is making up rumours that can't possibly be true :P

Nothing is confirmed until it's "confirmed", but the question mark over DHMG's companion status seemed to vanish after the trailer reveal. He's the third mage in that picture, and the three advisors being Cullen/Leliana/Scribe Lady seems almost certain.

I was wondering if they were the only ones that didn't move also, but Warden doesn't move either, and then there is Leilana's demon possessed head shake. Still, they have no weapons at least.

Even if no more information is revealed for a while, I'd like to know the actual names of DHMG/Dorian, Sera and Scribbles. Especially DHMG, because officially naming him as 'Dorian' would confirm all the lovely things I'm anticipating about his storyline/background.
