I'm going with human. But it's mostly coincidental because human is what I want to play first and Dorian is who I want to romance first, rather than choosing those things together for story reasons.

I wonder which would be more intresting, romancing Dorian with qunari or with elf? I can't decide..
Matter of opinion.
Qunari are invaders who tried and "failed" to conquer Tevinter but are always threatening Dorian's homeland, at least for the moment. Qunari history, as the aggressive, expansionist force of Thedas mirrors the Historical Tevinter Imperium, who conquered the World. Qunari are also the "other culture" of The Dragon Age Setting and so a Dorian/Qunari romance can be one of two conflicting enemies coming to understand each other, and two outsiders/pariahs finding each other more familiar than strange.
Elves were conquered by Tevinter in possibly one of the most genocidal wars ever to happen in Thedosian history. Tevinter suppressed Elven culture, built a system of slavery around elven/human racial differences, and appropriated Elven practices they found beneficial (using Eluvians as communicators, for example). Dorian, as the Tevinter Redeemer in a relationship with a Dalish Elf, could find himself realizing he has much more to redeem than he thought. A Dalish Elf could feel extreme conflict about being with not only a human, but the boogy man of humans, a Tevinter Mage.
So an Elf/Dorian romance might be more a union/compromise of opposites than a Qunari/Dorian romance which might feel more like surface differences being revealed to be similarities. Both equally compelling stories, in my opinion.

Definitely Qunari, in my opinion. I love the idea that they are both rejected (or just seperate) from their societies and with the whole Qunari/Tevinter war it makes an interesting pairing.
I actually wish there was more Dorian/Qunari art, the majority I've seen is Dorian/Elf.
Yes, I'm thinking of playing Tal-Vashoth qunari too so they both would be kinda redeemers then, wanting to change bad reputation of their ethnicities
It seems like there is most elf x dorian art I'm hoping there would be more qunari stuff too. I still like both ideas, proud dalish elf or tal-vashoth with Dorian.

Elven mage Inquisitor + Dorian. Two other members yet to be decided. I think it might be a warrior and thief. Thief is the difficult part, since all three of them(Varric, Sera, Cole) all looks appealing to me. ![]()

I think I will go with qunari mage then. Both of Dorian's and his homecountry are pretty extremes with dealing with mages, in other place they are almost worshipped and other feared and chained. I bet there is some intresting discussions.

Poll time: http://strawpoll.me/2889372
I'm just curious to see just how many people are going to romance Dorian with a dwarf or qunari. From what I've seen most are going with human or elf. It's a multiple choice poll so feel free to pick more than one if that's what you plan to do.
I think there needs to be the option None of the above "but Dorian is far too cool not to be a regualer in my party anyway."

AFAIK Anders is the only M/M LI who has actually said "I love you" to the male player character.
I'd like to hear Dorian say it, rather than something like "I know."

I'd like it, assuming it's in character for him to do so. It didn't bother me with Zevran and Fenris since they were both not heart on my sleeve types, but it did bug me when they didn't have Kaidan say in ME3 until the DLC since it was very in character for him.

I could be wrong... But why do gay romances in games, movies or WTFever else seem so... idk adorable? Maybe not correct term. Yet, M/F it just seem so... awkward
. I've yet to see it but no hate replies, please keep civil.
Edit: Btw I mean no offense by any means.

Going for Dorian with a naive elf mage who is curious about him. Really Dorian being any relationship would be considered "scandalous" since its not advancing his family's interest or social standing. Dorian and human quiz got the bird of a feather thing going on because of their families. Not sure if elf bromance or "quanri" bromance would more scandalous. I look forward to seeing Dorian pursing his own interests and be charming in the process.

Kierro The Qunari Cause the majority of female characters are boring/bad written/cliched or change very much when fall in love to the point of complete stupidity and selflessness (Dragonlance thank you very much). All that leads to awful romances.
It also doesn't help them being secondary meh characters and in the most cases they were created basically only for the sake of romance in the book/movie/game.

Oooh, finally some human/human art. I was starting to think it was fandom blasphemy not to go the elf or qunari route with him.

I'm curious about Dorian's religion. Tevinter has the Imperial Chantry which is considered heretical by the Andrastian Chantry because of it's stance on magic, although everything else is essentially the same (except IC has more men rather than women). I wonder if his disillusionment with Tevinter also includes his religion or if he is largely still faithful to IC.
Also, I looked up the meaning of Dorian and it means "one who is exiled". Very fitting!

Where did you come across that at? The only credible meaning I've been able to find is the ancient Greek tribe of the same name, and that meant 'woodland.'
