True, but Dorian's eyes were already alluring. His eyes had this almost wolfish/vampiric quality to them that were hypnotizing if you stared at them long enough.

Eh it's a hybrid of green and blue that actually looks silver-grey if you look at it from far away.

 

I love this color so I'm fine with it. My ex-bf (whom I'm still friends with) has dark hair with striking blue-grey eyes which I loved. His angry stare was scary though

Not that I like it or not, but I am curious the reason why they change the eye color. Or the modeling have no idea how the eye color is set for Dorian from the start?

I think the eyeliner is still there, though it is pretty faded. If I up the contrast, you can see the eyeliner wing in the corner of his eye:

I hope that they continue to tweak the models and textures for all assets of the game, from a blade of grass, to the eyes of Dorian, to the chest hair of Varric, to the beard of Blackwall, to the stones of sykhold. Thats the way we get a better game.

 

I don't really pay too much attention to twitter announcements from designers of changes to pre-released game characters, but would they really do that now that the game's gone to gold status and has started to ship to the retailers? They changed Cassandra pretty late but even that was before DA2 was even out.

 

 

Changing Dorian's eyes to blue this late is surprising to me. Although I have a preference for swarthy skin with black hair and blue eyes, I've grown used to his hazel ones and it's much more likely a color for him. It's not something I'll be crying over, unless they ditch his eyeliner too. That will get rivers of tears flowing. Swarthy guys with dark hair and eyeliner, holy s***!

Just because we learned he has blue eyes recently doesn't mean they changed it now. David said this back in May:

When I zoom in close, they appear to be a light shade of green with flecks of brown. That reads as hazel to me. Mind you, with the way things are going, I could turn around tomorrow and the model could be changed and his eyes could be purple. So take my observation with a big grain of salt.

It is not unusual to tweak things because now even consols have patches, I'm a "puter" gamer and with computers I am use to tweaks and patches and improvements right up until launch. Going "gold" doesn't stop the tweaking or it shouldn't.

Fans are fans, what's new? Some are tiffed about the unfortunate implications of potential white washing, whilst other just simply loved his golden green eyes. Change is always scary. And sometimes not so good.

In all honesty, I like both eye colors. From that recent chess scene from the livestream, I didn't even notice that his eyes were supposedly blue. I wouldn't even have known till whoever it was posted that picture on Twitter of his eyes close up.

And Lucy, I hardly think he's being white washed. He looked as dark as ever in that livesstream a few weeks ago.

I was just clarifying. *I* am not necessarily concerned, but rather I am just saying that fans do get upset for these reasons. Also, a lot of people notice eye colour. I remember every DAO companions eye colours, for instance. Also that twitch stream wasn't HD enough to see it properly.

His skin colour hasn't changed at all, IMO. As the devs have said time and time again - he might look lighter or darker because of LIGHTING. Which is a magical thing.
