I honestly can't tell.   Because it feels like every time I see him, he looks different somehow. But so do real people, well, kinda.

lol His face seems thinner, his nose less obnoxious and there seems to be less of an aged look to him. I don't know. He looks way different to me.

So many new videos and not a single glimpse of Dorian.   Looks like we won't get him in the first six hours of the game?

 

I think its dangerous to make assumptions on which companions appear when. If I recall correctly in DA:O there was only one companion that was "late" in the game the often referred to "secret" companion.

 

There are some that you got quickly like Alistair, Morrigan and perhaps another set quickly after that with Sten and Leliana but the rest came depending on what quest arcs you took. Go to orzammar last and you'll think Oghren is late in the game do the circle last and Wynne will seem late. Some companions might be gated behind completeing a certain stage of the plot, you couldn't get Zevran until after you completed ONE (I think it was one) treaty quest lines.

 

In your first play through you might not find Dorian right away because you don't know where to look, others might find him right away just by seer luck. Given what appears to be a very open ended game allowing players to pick which zone's they explore first I think that players will have lots of agency in choosing the order of many, but not all, of their companions. In the early days people wont know where to go to get X companion but very quickly those who want X companion ASAP will have the info as to where and how to get x companion the fastest.

I could understand maybe a spell briefly changing your eye color, but only in the sense that your eyes may glow a different color for a few seconds in the midst of actively channeling a powerful spell. But definitely not a permanent change based upon what school of magic you favor.

This is a super weird thing to comment on, but mad props to whoever did the detail work on his Skyhold clothes. The textures, the loose strings, the way the fabric wrinkles, the way the collar is pulled toward the right strap - it's very nicely done.

I remember waaay back when they first released those images of everyone standing around the war table and I remember instantly noticing the yet-to-announced Dorian and thinking "oh my" and then "HOT DAMN" and then "please Jesus be my manquisistor's boyfriend".

Now we know all this wonderful information about him and I still think the exact same things haha except it's even more wonderful because he will always be my manquisistor's boyfriend

Only problem will be managing to actually romance the other characters I want to eventually without quitting and being like nah man one more D run and then I'll get to you

I'm interested to see where they go with Varric. He had a lot invested in Kirkwall. Made a living out of being its chief information broker. Was friendly and loyal, in part, to strengthen his network. When the mage rebellion started, all that work was vaporized.

Now, he's lost everything, and is working alongside (1) someone who violently interrogated him and (2) someone from the culture that almost tore his city apart before the rebellion.

I'm going to be watching him very closely.
