That review could also be talking about Cassandra since she's also an LI for a male Inquisitor and she seems to be just as much of an idealistic do-gooder as Dorian is. (Which is why I love both of them so much.) She also seems like the type who would put duty over her own feelings.

ah yes, someone inboxed me and told me, though I assumed it was a "particular character" from the way this character is portrayed in game. She seems the "save the world" type. But then some speculation in this thread made me worried. Shame for those who romance that individual though...and I hope there's an alternate choice to make. Sink all that time and effort into a romance and then have to let them go. Like real life *sigh*

 

Maybe Dorian will rule Tevinter, lol. And you can be his "queen".

I doubt any of the romances can only end one way because the companion quests seem to have different possible outcomes.

As far as I could tell, not yet (but if someone has one let me know!) There was one youtube channel who did it for all of the companions and included their f first conversation after recruitment (including the advisers), except for Dorian.

So it seems like they are keeping Tevinter closer to the slavery of antiquity than the slavery seen over the last 400 years. It makes sense and should make it interesting to compare what Fenris described and what Dorian describes (and I am totally not surprised that Dorian didn't personally own slaves)

It makes sense and should make it interesting to compare what Fenris described and what Dorian describes (and I am totally not surprised that Dorian didn't personally own slaves)

never though about it that much because he had some more serious sh*t coming in his own life. Plus, whatever corruption he oppose must be even worse than slavery. It also makes sense for him not feeling about it the same way as people elsewhere in Thedas because he grew up surrounded by that. Anyway, regarding the romance that could end due to the LI's altruism, I found something in the spoiler thread, that if true, more or less confirms which one it is.

 

HUGE, MASSIVE SPOILERS REGARDING A MAJOR CHOICE IN THE GAME IF TRUE. SO IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW SOMETHING THIS BIG, STOP HERE!!!

Someone found file names that imply the Inquisitor can have a hand in choosing the new Divine. Apparently the options are Leliana, Cassandra, and Vivienne. Assuming this is true, I would guess that Cassandra is the LI in question, and the reviewer encouraged her to become the Divine in order to help make the world a better place. In the first conversation you have with Cassandra she talks a lot about how the Chantry is important but flawed and it needs to be changed in order to truly help people and achieve the dream Andraste had for Thedas. So, again, assuming the file names are what they appear to be, I'm 90% sure it's not Dorian who was the LI mentioned.

Well, from the spoiler, that's really not an effective analogy for what Dorian has said about slavery so far. That would be an effective analogy for if I said it about Danarius.

The thing is, we still don't know a great deal about his views and his whole thoughts about the slavery and people already... worried.

And I can assure you, there's nothing in those 2 spoilers above that suggest that he's pro slavery.

Well to me it looks like they are setting up an arc for him. Keep in mind that people can change, Dorian doesn't come off as pro-slavery, just that he never thought about it. I can't wait to get to learn more about dorian as he seems cool and a fun companion to have around

 

Though speaking of slavery,how would they handle slavery in Tevinter if the next game was set in tevinter. As it is clear not everyone would want to work with pro-slavery people, of which tevinter has.

The truth about chattel slavery? Somewhere between Fenris's truth, that it's a truly monstrous institution, and Dorian's, that... I dunno, it's not really that bad? It's a way out of poverty, for sure. Dorian has an incredibly privileged position in his society and I don't think his views on the matter are remotely as credible as Fenris's, but w/e. I'm not sure his views on slavery are that different from those of a self-justifying, 19th-century American whose family owned slaves and I have no reason to believe that slavery in Tevinter isn't a particularly brutal institution just like it was here on Earth, in the recent past, but we'll see, I guess.
