The World of Thedas part was particularly enlightening.
I can't speak for DAO, its been some time since I've played and I've only had a few playthroughs, but I do remember one instance where sexuality is talked about outside of romancing them (ala Anders) in DA2. Bethany asks Isabela in party banter if she has been with women, to which Isabela replies 'I know, it's shocking isn't it'.

It might be premature to only think they're doing one bi or gay option.
Just putting that out there. We're in uncharted territory for the DA series to even have exclusively f/f and m/m companions, and at this point I see no reason to assume there'll only be [x] number of characters who swing [y] ways. We have next to no idea how this is going to work.

It's fair to assume 2/2/2 as a minimum from that, yeah, but I wouldn't want to rule out more until we actually get our hands on the game. Or at least, I don't feel comfortable using 2/2/2 as a basis for speculation until we have stronger evidence that those are the numbers they're actually using. I understand the resources issue, but Inquisition seems hardly lacking for resources.
(And for what it's worth, it's incredible to see how positively the DA devs are handling this. The difference between the ME franchise and what Inquisition/DA2 have done is like night and day.)

If he is a romance, I'm pretty sure he'll be gay. I remember Gaider saying that they try to make the LI's good contrasts to each other, both Cullen and DHMG seem like "pretty boys". So if Cullen is straight and DHMG gay, Solas who looks more practical would be a good contrast to both of them, meaning both sides get pretty much the same.
I'm really bad at making male characters, they just never cut it for me, but maybe I'll like DHMG enough to make it work

Although, to be honest, I don't think he seems too stereotypical. Yes, he's got meticulously groomed facial hair and he has had some moments of dramatic gesticulation, but who hasn't, right?
