I've been playing Inquisition now that I've got it.

 

I've just met Dorian. I wanted to take screenshots, but I'm still new with how the PS4 takes them!

 

But anyway, damn that son of a ******.

I have gotten all the feels for Dorian.  He is vying really hard to be my favorite companion (He is definitely close to winning).

So, I've met Dorian, but my wife wanted to watch something with me, so I saved and shut down.  When I get back to it, I'll begin the mission to recruit him.  Loved my first meeting with him.  

 

I've only got Cass, Varric, Blackwall, and Solas so far.  I feel behind!

I did this exact same thing (trying to 100% complete the Hinterlands).  Now, 9 1/2 hours in, I've finally decided to move onto another area. 

 

I seriously wonder if we are related sometimes when I read your posts.  Sometimes, I read them and then think, "When did I post this.....?"  Great surnames think alike, sir. 

 

Funny thing is, a couple of years ago I discovered (and met) a brother I'd never known I had.

Alright, so I told Dorian about the letter and take him to the Gull and... nothing? It's COMPLETELY empty and nothing happens. no cutscene, no fight, no one in the entire inn and nothing happens when you go outside and then back in. Still continues to be completely empty, help?

I read that someone suggested going out and then going back in as Dorian himself. I don't know if it works or not though, I didn't have the problem.

 

I've finally got him to the point where he's started nicknaming me.   He's so wonderful. He and Cassandra have both wiped the floor when Morrigan and Isabela when it comes to my favorite companion.

I had this problem.  I didn't go in as Dorian, but I did go to another zone and then back to that one and it worked.  I also didn't have it set as my main quest, but I don't know if that made a difference.

I concur!  I have plans on romancing him (and I have a feeling that is going to be loaded with feels I won't be able to handle), but I'm sort of glad I didn't on my first play through because his friendship arc is amazing.  He's just... gah.  Best.  Companion.  Ever.

To take a screenshot, use the share button on the controller and it will give you the option to save the screenshot.  I moved mine over to USB, which if I remember correctly was done outside the game (from the main PS4 screen, choose the DAI options choice under the icon).  That should get you into the video or screenshots you have saved and then you can choose to save them to USB.

Yeah, I still can't gte it, it's pissing me off... maybe his approval needs to be higher?

Did you try making it not your main quest and then leaving and coming back to the zone?  If that doesn't work... I don't know.  Those things or entering as him seem to work for most everybody.  I know there is a thread about it somewhere.

I had just established a camp in the Emerald Graves with Dorian in the party and decided to get up to grab a drink without pausing the game. When I got back Dorian remarks "And so we were stuck here forever, what an end for the Inquisition!". I love this guy.

Dorian is just like Cortez in ME3 for me. Once I met him and played and finished it, I had to go back and play a male character just so I could romance him. He is one of the cutest guys in the game to me and I love his character (not to mention as a female playing a male character, can we say yummy on how he stolls around the room after the "hook up"?) but that aside, he is just such a cool character and his persona is just awesome.

Either you continue the mage quest and he gets in your party and you recruit him at the end, or you side templars and see him and recruit him in the main quest after that one.

Alright. After long amounts of debating with myself, I've decided Dorian is my officially my favourite companion in this game. His snark is gold, and his VA knocks it out of the park.

Wish I could romance him...but I can confirm he shamelessly flirts with a female Inquisitor anyway. :S

For me it triggered while I was walking up the stairs to see him. It just popped up on my screen and my goodness, Cole just accidentally sassed Dorian in my game. "Do you conjure your clothes? Is that why they look like that?" I love the banter in this game, I just wished it triggered more.

I think Dorian is my favorite companion. I love the snarky characters, usually, and he is just awesome. His writing and his VA are both top notch. I haven't had him in my party for long, and I already adore him.

You can contact Maevaris and she replies back with 'send Dorian my love, he is such a hothouse orchid, he must be wilting in the cold'. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he is cold considering what he is wearing, as lovely as it is.

When Bioware first introduced Dorian I hated his pr0n stach and his bio seemed clichée. Now he has become my favorite companion and he is locked in my party since I recruited him! He is smart, funny, sexy and all around charming. I wish he was a romance option for my inquisitor but she can at least friendly flirt with him.
