I cant find mother Giselle?!?!

Wtf?! Where is she?

Edit: I found here. But no letter to trigger Last Resort of Good Men. Anything I have to do to trigger this?

Should start with dialogue, if it's not there then it's a glitch. Or you don't have a high approval with Dorian.

Well, she hangs out in the garden, but she should be with Dorian or be in the main hall as an exclamation point on the mini map the two times she's involved with Dorian's story.

Main hall as where the throne is?

I am freaking out... I hear so much about this bug that the quest will not trigger! **** shit ****. I might not have enough approval points?

I cannot speak with Dorian anymore. Its only "Thats enough". And Dorian replies something along the line "Please don´t die. I would notice if you where gone" and "I like seeing you leave". I interpented it as flirting... But maybe not?

Yes, in the main hall where the throne is, near Varric.

But it sounds like you don't have high enough approval with him. Bull wouldn't talk to me either for almost a whole act until I got more approval from him.

Where did you see this? And what platform? PC?

Mother Giselle gave me the letter asap when I first started walking around Skyhold...then I judged Alexis and talked to Dorian about it. So...his quest still triggered. Meh, I guess I got lucky and avoided the bug. Now it's trying to trigger his romance plot. I have no idea how.

Yup PC. And: on tumblr (yeah I know but that's literally the only place I found anything about what may cause the glitch/how to avoid it)

And I don't know if that's another bug or if Dorian's just not feeling very strongly about things but there have now been plenty of instances in my game where the companions, those in my party or not, approved but I never got any approval/disapproval from Dorian (I'm probably just super paranoid now but...yeah)

Well I loved Dorian on first sight, but in game...WOW. He is by far my favorite DA character ever. I love his wit (it is so me) and just everything about him. He is smart, sarcastic and sexy, what more could you want? Even though my first play is a female and is romancing Cullen, I love being able to flirt with Dorian. Not to mention, it almost makes me like him more that a female can be a shameless flirt and you don't have to worry about a relationship. Its a fun banter and just adds to the friendship. One thing I always hated in the DA games was that if you were a total flirt with anyone, it led to them wanting to jump in bed with you (or ground in DA:O case). I like that you can have such a relationship with him as a female and it is all in good fun.

He is also my only mage I have as a companion now too. I really liked Solas at first, but he doesn't come close to Dorian. Dorian kicks butt. I usually have him and Blackwall together and since I am a Rogue those two seem to be unstoppable and compliment me completely. I can not see me ever using any other Mage ever (well except for a new game before you get him, lol) again.

Count me in as another one who's having issues triggering Last Resort.

The problem seems to be that his approval isn't high enough, and his approval isn't high enough because after a certain point he just stopped gaining it. I've been following a couple online guides to try and nab approval from him, but when those instances come and go he never gains--or loses--approval whatsoever. I've also completely run out of dialogue options with him.

There's nothing I can presently think of that indicated I was locked out of anything...my Inquisitor was on good terms with him before he stopped gaining approval. Someone suggested that speaking to him about Alexius locks you out, but a friend of mine did that and had no issue with him in her playthrough. So it's looking like a particularly unfortunate bug to me.

I didn't concretely notice when he stopped gaining approval, but I think it must've been just after One Less Venatori, since I remember him gaining throughout that. Unfortunately I didn't think to make a separate save back then so I can't go back and test it.

40 hours in and I haven't left Haven yet, but I saw this article that appears to indicate which choices/responses gain or lose Dorian's approval. I don't know how accurate it is though. If anyone who has finished his personal quests can attest to this, you have my gratitude.

I can, the vast majority comes from the guide book and is correct.

Don't worry so much about it, just don't be a jerk to him and flirt every once in a while.

You're eating spoilers for no reason.

I happened to upload Dorian's main romance scene to Youtube, I'm guessing it was posted already but there you go anyway:

Yeh I'm assuming I've got the bug which is really annoying, because I've done One Less Venatori, and I've done his other war table quests, and I've made sure to never have a disapprove from him. I might follow that article for choices and see if goddamn Mother Giselle shows up or not, but for now I'm just gonna try romance Iron Bull.

The "I rather like watching you leave" definitely sounds flirty to me too. But I don't think I've seen that one since I finished his personal quest and asked why he had flirted with me after learning his sexuality - I think you can say you find the flirting fun, but I chose that I wanted to be his friend (Dorian Greatly Approves) :)

I like the "Try not to die. I'd notice if you were gone." line too though! Dorian is the best.

Done that. I'm 46 hours into the game, and I judged Alexius around Hour 20 and talked to Dorian right after. No change in his dialogue options and Giselle won't fire up the quest.

Yep. I don't remember the order in which I did that, but I did it. Dorian hasn't given me any new dialogue since then and I'm on like hour 60 of playtime here.

Damn, that really does sound like a bug. That sucks. I hope they patch it soon.

He and my Inquisitor were just naughty, finally. There's no way I'm taking this slow, lol. In other romances, I just watched the Solas final scene and damn...talk about mixed signals there.

As I've posted before, I had this bug as well. When I loaded up a 40 hour old save I was able to trigger Dorian's quests immediately. Checking the war table, I notice that the Alexius judgement operation hasn't been done yet... I must've done it before talking to Dorian in my old save.

As I suspected, Dorian is becoming one of my favorite characters. Sadly, I can't see myself romancing him (no offense to those who would, I'm just straight).

No need to apologize. He's awesome, but not everyone needs to romance him.  In fact, my second character is going to be a gay dwarf and even he won't be romancing Dorian.  It's cool to just appreciate him for the badass that he is:  dashing, snarky, and a really useful mage.

Thing is, after revruiting the Mages and taking with him, it's funny how much his views mirror my real ones, specially the Chantry and religion. I consider myself a Christian but don't support the Catholic Church (or any Christian church for that matter) as it is now.

I'm not surprised to see many people connecting with the character.  As much as people are trying to paint him out to be a walking gay stereotype, he's actually a pretty complex character.  I don't always agree with him and I find him a little annoying at times, but I appreciate the character.  Gaider is good at that.

It's verry nice that I see things I can relate to in the three mage companions. Vivs think that magic is a gift that makes their users powerhouses but the must learn to use it wisely else bad things can happen. Which I agree with. Solas's whole knowledge seeking sits well with me too.

Yeah, I think the mages are excellent in this game.  I adore Vivienne.  She's a brilliant character.  Just love everything about her.  I think that her view is most in line with my personal view on the mage-templar debate.  She's maybe a little more conservative than I would be, but I totally understand her point of view and think she makes a ton of sense.  I also love the quiet, erudite way that Solas has about him.  It's great to have a brainy, logical character.  I haven't completed his companion quests yet, so I'm interested to see where his character goes.

All three of them are heads and shoulders above the mages in DA 2.  I found them both to be incredibly irritating.  I ended up rolling a mage in most playthroughs so that I wouldn't need to take either of them with me (plus, I think it makes a better story for Hawke).  I have the opposite problem here:  when I play my mage, how will I ever be able to choose to just bring one of them with me?

I tried judging Alexis now. Nothing happend afterwards. I decided to save Alexis and let him serve the mages. Dorian had like...one thing to say about it, thats it.

I will reload it and try to get more approval from Dorian before I judge Alexis again.

I will go CRAZY if I cant romance him coz of the bug.
