Like many have said before I'm stuck and I cant get Dorian's personal quest with Mother Giselle to trigger. I seem to have high approval with him, but theres nothing more I can say to him when I talk to him in the library. I just finished the Winter Palace and even after that nothing really changed. I flirted with him at every chance there was, but now I'm just lost. What should I try next to try and get around this stupid bug?

I have yet to do winter palace quest, but I think I have maxed out his approval, since his approval hasn't increased for a while, even when I killed the third venatori group, and when i chose to ally with the wardens, which supposedly increase his approval.
I got the last resort quest almost immediately upon arrival to Skyhold. So it does sounds like bug to me if you are finishing winter palace and still don't get his quest.

Gosh this is awful. I hope it doesnt prevent me from romancing him at all. I'm going to try some other stuff later today to see if I can solve it. I'm not sure if I maxed out my approval with him, since I did gain approval with the venatori quest. I'll report back what happens, if anything.

Have you talked to mother Giselle first? In the main hall?

Shes not in the main hall, just in the garden.

The romance quest just popped up as I was in Solas's room, ready to go up the stairs to the library. Leliana gives it to you via a letter.

I think I judged him before I got the quest.
Have you tried leaving skyhold and then coming back? Sometimes that triggers quests for me.

I didn't judge him before I got the quest. So I don't know if that makes a difference.

YEAAAAH FINALLY IT TRIGGERED! It was perhaps the approval points in the end.
What I did:
I did not judge Alexius.
I have played 24 hours.
I started the "Here Lies the Abyss" quest. Just finished exploring the Western Approach in that quest, and went back to Skyhold.
Soooo... Should I judge Alexius now? Tell Dorian about the letter? Or just go straight for the Dorian personal quest mission? I am excited to finally be able to romance him! *happy dance* Anything I should make sure I don´t do?

I would definitely tell Dorian about the letter. From what I understand, he is very annoyed if you don't.

I judged Alexius and didn't get any approval change from Dorian or miss his quest, so I don't think it really plays into that. He just said it was a shame he had to be locked up, but didn't seem to care a great deal.

I went up to Dorian every time I was at the Skyhold. After Dorian talks about Felix, Mother Giselle is in the hall. Hopefully it will work for you too. ![]()
Thank you for everyone´s help! I truly appreciate it! ![]()

His post Here Lies the Abyss dialogue as a love interest is so freaking good too. He's so sensitive and sentimental under the flippant and arrogant exterior. I love that so much.

A really, really good article about Dorian, tweeted by David Gaider. It has spoilers for his main personal quest. I would however recommend giving it a read.

He was annoyed, but he didn't disapprove. And I liked the extra drama of that scene where he's walking in the tavern wondering where everyone is. Lover's quarrels always end with make-up sex, LOL. I still got to see the booty.

Yeah, I think the mages are excellent in this game. I adore Vivienne. She's a brilliant character. Just love everything about her. I think that her view is most in line with my personal view on the mage-templar debate. She's maybe a little more conservative than I would be, but I totally understand her point of view and think she makes a ton of sense. I also love the quiet, erudite way that Solas has about him. It's great to have a brainy, logical character. I haven't completed his companion quests yet, so I'm interested to see where his character goes.
All three of them are heads and shoulders above the mages in DA 2. I found them both to be incredibly irritating. I ended up rolling a mage in most playthroughs so that I wouldn't need to take either of them with me (plus, I think it makes a better story for Hawke). I have the opposite problem here: when I play my mage, how will I ever be able to choose to just bring one of them with me?
Bring all of them? It feels like cheating though.

"My body is telling me no but my mind is saying yes". I'm a straight heterosexual an I gotta ask, is considering a Dorian Romance...make me less hetero towards bi? I have to physical attraction to males but Dorian has somewhat a feminine side tolerable and nice. Also enjoy his company.

Go for it. I don't see how romancing Dorian would magically turn you gay. It's not something you can catch; you either are or you aren't.

I don't think I'll go for his romance, but Dorian is easily in my top 5 DA companions (Isabella, Morrigan, Varric, and Cassandra are the other 4, in no particular order). His sense of humor is spot-on.
