I believe the EA mobile games studio that built those models did so with assets that Bioware supplied, but their artists aren't Bioware's artists, and in some other cases the art style of HoDA veers wildly off what I'd consider "Dragon Age".

So.. take those with a grain of salt. I also think it's likely that if Dramatic Hands was intended to be a Tevinter battlemage/arcane warrior, his appearance would've received the same detailed work that the other party members have. Just like Vivienne looks wildly different to your usual First Enchanter, we can't necessarily use a typical character as a model for a companion, because their looks are so much more customised.

(This post by DA concept artist Casper Konefal is a really, really interesting look at how they draw the characters to reflect important themes)

I like his mustache.

I want to touch the mustache.

I want to feel the mustache.

To me he just doesn't say: "I'm from Tevinter!". No. He looks more Orlesian to me.

I still believe mostly that this is Rhys.

I doubt it. The survey wasn't meant to be released to the public; why would it have trick questions? Genuine marketing surveys don't have red herrings if they want sincere feedback. It probably wasn't even written by actual game developers - the Marketing people more likely put it together.

(Not to mention that practically everything in that survey has turned out to be accurate.)

Okay that's logical from your end of the authenticity of the survey and existence of all the characters present there in DA:I i have no doubt. But I still fail to be fully convinced that they got who is NPC who is companion part right. For all we know it could have been a random grouping on their part

I'm just going to throw in my two cents and say, in my opinion, he is a Mage. An arcane warrior or battle Mage. It just makes more sense to me than warrior. The scrolls, the light armor, pretty sure sword and staff. I could be wrong and if I am, I'm prepared to eat Internet crow. But, I'm throwing in my cards as he's a Mage. A fabulous mustache Mage.

I've never doubted him being a mage. It's just.... that concept art screams "Mage!"

The thing that sells him as a companion to me is the concept art of him exploring with your Inquisitor and one other companion.  He doesn't look particularly seneschal-y in that art.

Well from the description given to us of Rhys it is very likely that it is him

From DA Wiki:- http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Rhys

"Rhys is a handsome man around forty years of age with chiseled features, warm brown eyes, a dark beard and black hair with silvering streaks."

But I really hope its Dorian Pavus instead, because to me he sounds much more interesting than Rhys(haven't read Asunder yet so no real opinion on him)

I'm about to start Asunder so I haven't experienced Rhys yet for myself, but that description you linked sounds pretty close.  You can see the silver streaks in his survey art and I personally find him to be handsome.  40 looks about right (good age, mmm) but I guess the beard part isn't exact.  Neato :)

Keep in mind that there are actually four art models per character type (so there's also a Tevinter Battlemage II, III and IV) who look different to this model - they get progressively more ornate, but I can't find any pictures of the more advanced versions.

They are completely different. And it is clear that they both ahve stylized staffs unless Mr. Mouthached have usual sword and spear.

"30ish white man with black hair" could describe literally dozens of Dragon Age characters.

And isn't DHMG's hair brown?

I have read Asunder and Rhys is described as having a dark beard. Mustache Guy doesn't have a beard (although he could have had a beard and shaved.) and the exact colour of his hair is debatable. In that concept art he seems to be in shadow so his hair could appear darker than it actually is. I don't think Mustache Guy is Rhys.

I've read that David Gaider said that they didn't have Dorian as character. I can't find link sadly. So this guy definetly not Dorian. New Character.

I think I remember him commenting on why the fans were referring to an unknown Mage by Dorian, but this was before Solas was announced.

Gaider said that Solas and Dorian were always different concepts when people were asking if Solas was Dorian, or if he'd replace Dorian. He didn't really say either way if Dorian was still in the mix. Just that he and Solas weren't connected.

Actually he said : Who is Dorian? That indicates: there is no Dorian.

I took that to mean he was asking who the fans thought Dorian was, as at the time weren't we all thinking he was Solas?

Those arts. He is in the chain art, possibly in the female qunari art ( the guy that knees and holds the sword) and in the one with the ancient looking gate.

Or he was being sarcastic.

There clearly was, and probably is, a Dorian.

If you want to be specific, even, here's David's post about Dorian in reference to Solas:

"And, since this seems to be a persistent notion: Solas is not the "Dorian" from the survey. He was never that character. As to who Solas is... well, I suppose you'll all have to wait and see."

Ran out of likes :'(

To me, the "Who is Dorian" question is just pointing out that there's been no official release of information or lore surrounding anyone named Dorian.  DG and others constantly tell us not to hold stock in info from unofficial sources, and the leaked survey has been called unofficial and inaccurate many times.  I think it was more of a "don't make assumptions before you know any facts" kind of statement.

I don't think we'll be given info on the last two companions, personally, since we were told in the Follower Friday thread that some would be kept a secret.  We're already down to 2 completely unknown companion spots and I can easily imagine those being left unconfirmed/mysterious.  As much as I'll dissect every piece of art work they give us, I'll still appreciate a few surprises when I play the game :P
